Well, I just ordered my new computer last night and I can't wait to get it. It cost me just under $800 and I think it was well worth it. Here is what I currently have:
P3 866MHz
GeForce3 TI-200 64MB Video Card
40GB Hard Drive
512MB PC133 SDRAM
40x DVD-ROM
12x8x32 CD-RW
Microsoft Ball Mouse
WinME
Here is what I'm replacing it with:
AMD Athlon XP2400 (2.0GHz)
ATi Radeon 9500 Pro 128MB Video Card
120GB Hard Drive (7200rpm, 8MB Cache)
512MB PC2700 DDR RAM
52x CD-ROM
52x24x52 CD-RW
Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse
WinXP
I'm also getting a really nice looking new case and of course a motherboard to fit the new cpu. On top of that, I'm having cable internet installed on ther 18th. So, in a couple of weeks "computer" will be very different for me than it is now.

Your first major noticeable diff is going to be that "Optical Wheel Mouse".....I've been using one for a few yrs now and I just don't have the balls to go back....

Optical mouse= no ball.........never gets sticky....reads just about any surface you move it on, without a mouse pad......I use the board my keyboard sits on.....much smoother in the long run.....never builds up crud on the inner rollers of the ball mouse, cause it doesn't have any rollers......it slides on teflon pads and reads its own light that it shines under your mouse ......

I love my optical mouse, mine is also wireless, goes through batteries once a week but I rotate several sets of rechargables through it.
I would never purposely go back to using an old style roller ball mouse, no fun when you're trying to do something precise and your ball rolls over a piece of crud and the cursor jumps all over the screen!
