I don't think this is an isolated problem. With the default FS2002 C172, I alligned the OBS to the VOR radial and the plane just started going around in circles. In GPS mode, the plane will stay on course and suddely start to veer away. This is reguardless of weather conditions.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Here is how you set the ILS course in the Cessna:
open the map and click once on the runway you wish to land in. there is a new window. scroll to the end, and look for the runway's number in the table, next to the runway's number you'll see the COURSE under "ils hdg", click ok and exit the map. Look at the panel, look for the altimeter, and start spining the OBS button untill you reach the HDG you found out in the map.
That's it.

Have you tried to contact Corenado?  They may have the answer to your question.  Have you replaced any of the gauges or are you using the ones that came with the cessna.  I have never tried to use an auto pilot with it, because most small civil aircraft don't come with one.  The most autopilot I have seen in a small civil aircraft is one that holds wings level and heading.  This was on a Piper Warrior.  Anyway, that maybe something to try is to edit the gauges with stock FS or something else....  I have done this and they look better and perform well....
