Approach looked good as the flight attendants prepared the passengers for an emergency landing. The plane was alittle sluggish as I battled the controls. I know these things are built to fly with one engine..............but come on !!!

...

I stayed focused on my instruments while my copilot joked about the people in the sailboats below, "Look at them,..... no worries, a nice non-stressful Sunday afternoon cruise".
We both let out a chuckle!

...

As I tried to keep her in the glidescope, she started to drop quickly. I almost had to give her full throttle to keep her nose up. We were almost there. I did NOT want to go swimming!!

...

"West Indies flight 1634 this is the tower, you are clear to land. Be advised that there are emergency vehicles at the end of the runway. Please proceed to them upon landing"
"His approach looks good George, he'll be allright. He DID almost clip the mast on that sailboat!!
Another exciting Sunday afternoon here in the tower!!"

...

My Copilot yelled out, "Dave, You almost took out that sailboat"  Shocked
I in return said, "With that jetwash they are about to experience, they will now know the real meaning of sailing!!"
We both laughed again as the runway appeared beneath us.

...

The giant aircraft landed without a problem.
As we engaged the thrust reversers, my copilot asked me , "Were did you learn to fly a plane with one engine not running like that?"..........
I in turn laughed out loud and said...."Flight Simulator2002 of course,  were did you think?" !!   Grin

...

And you all thought that it would end in death and destruction!!
Sorry.
Hope you liked.

Dave, I have to say that these pics are some of the best I have seen in this forum! beautiful composition, wonderful colour and amazingly sharp, I love the story too.

You are going to be hard pressed to produce a series of pics to beat these!

Well done,

Nick

It is good to see you around more often, Nick. How is the new job?

You should have seen these before I had to knock down the resolution. I thought they looked incredible, I am not saying that bcause I posted them, just the colors of blue and aqua and the sun reflections with the "tropical colored plane"....They are pretty interesting. Wish there was a way to keep the resolution up, as you have stated yourself!
Thanks again!!

Crumbso, I didn't edit anything except size. I have some 3rd party water textures that are constantly changing. I love them. It does look black but that is how they are!  ???

Check out the edited pics I did of this plane in the edited section here:

The 3rd party water stuff I got a while ago at AVSIM. There are so many different zips and upgrades now...I do not know which one I have. I actually have two other versions sitting on my plate, but find no reason to try, these are really great I think!  What we need now are some coral reefs!!   8)
This is the scenery that came out today for Tahiti here at SimV.
Yes it is the GMAX BWAI. I saw an American Airlines 737-800  the other day posted by Pman and wanted to check it out. I got the scenery and plane this morning and flew both add ons together on the 1st go around!!    Grin
Wasn't expecting the engine failure, (who does.... Wink),
but made for an interesting story!

Thanks guys!!

not making accusations but I'm just wondering why the shots have a very red tint to them.

Nice pics man, that plane sports a lovely livery I tell you!

Have it in my hangar aswell Smiley

Some useless facts  Roll Eyes
Even if there's an engine inoperative, on the 737NG you are still allowed to use the FD or a single channel Autopilot to aid you. Luckily, the NG series are equipped with great engines (the 600 series is overpowered quite a bit...) so an engine failure isn't that dramatic anymore.

And to give you a little advice (this might help you next time). Final flap setting for  single engine approaches is 15. If you fly the approach with flap 30, or 40 , you will need much more power, because of the increased drag. That's why you had to give "full throttle" when you flew short finals  Smiley Judging from the pics, you flew with flap 40, please forgive me if I'm wrong  Smiley

Nice pics nonetheless. We want more  Grin
