Hi guys,
I'm new to this.

Does anybody know what to do with the 'dual display'-feature that came with my graphicscard ? (NVIDIA GeForce 5200 Go, OS:WinXP)

I'd love to use to expand the cockpit view or to have a seperate back or whatever view running on my second monitor, but I can't figure out how this could be done.

Any ideas welcome .

Best regards
Crevis

It's pretty easy using Windows XP. You can do this either by using Nview or the Windows monitor configure panel, AKA the settings tab in the display properties window. It should automatically detect the monitors and you will see two large monitor icons. You will also see a box that says something like "expand desktop" this will expand the desktop onto monitor 2. Using Nview simply click on the Nview option and select either clone desktop onto monitor 2 or expand it vertacally or horizontally onto monitor 2.

BTW, I just got the same card. I should get it on Monday. Is it any good?

Hi orenda635,

thank you for your anwer.

I tried, what you suggested, but it didn't work.

I expanded the display and i was able to use the expanded desktop on the other monitor.

But when MS Flight Sim 2002 starts, the other desktop (say #2) stays as it is. Windows desktop with desktop stuff onto it. The other display (#1) shows (and runs) MS Flight Sim 2002. I think I have to tell Flight Sim 2002 to use the other display too, but I haven't figured out yet how to do it.

Anyway, the card is pretty cool, though !

Best regards,

Are you running FS2002 in window mode? Try expanding it to full screen. If that still doesn't work, I play around with my new card and see if I can figure it out.

Phew! I got it !!!

I simply had to 'undock' the panels from the initial FS2002 screen and move them over to the second screen.
Well, this seems to be all that can be done. No rear view or whatever-view on the second screen.

But I'm pretty glad I made it so far.

I don't have fs2k2 loaded now so I can't check this, but this is how we set up a new view in cfs1. hit one of the bracket bars on the keyboard [ or ]  one should open a new view window the other closes it. Now move to the number keypad, with the numbers lock on, press the number that corresponds to the view you want to display in the window. Hold down  the key and turn off the numbers lock. You should now have a new window with the view you want to export to the second monitor. A word of caution this is now the active window if you use your hat switch to move the view you will have to reset the view in the numbers keypad. To avoid this. Click on the main cockpit view to make it the active window,  the hat only affects the active window view, the new window continues to display the view you set with the numbers keypad.
Now if fs2k2 will create the new windows I do not know as I said I do not have it loaded. Hope this helps.
