CFS_2

XP_Pro all up_grades have been done.

Problem is when you try to taxi or com to a complere stop the airplane will spin in a circle before it stops. The only way you can taxi is full power? Plane or scenery it doesnt matter, I think there was a fix for this on Simviation Web sight but IM old_LOL and I do not remember where or what the fix was?

Any suggestions would be a help

Thanks ???

I've never come across this problem or seen it mentioned before. Are you sure it's not your joystick?

A and P, what acft. are we talking about here. I am going to assume a tail dragger like the Corsair, Hellcat or Wildcat.

Well, they are difficult to control. Full throttle is not necessary, but some throttle is needed for prop affect, usually a little burst of throttle will help.

There is a fix. A friend sent me the fix for the Corsair that he had gotten a long time ago. There was a change made in the acft. cfg file. I had him send me the "FIxed" cfg file. I then compared it to the stock cfg file of the Corsair. I was able to fing the changes made to correct the "twitchy" ground steering of that acft.

I then went and made the minor changes in my Hellcat and Wildcat's cfg files and the fix works great in those acft. too. The fix deals with the tail wheel, I am not sure if it is chaging the steering dynamics, size of wheel or rotation of wheel. I suspect the change has rotated the wheel 180 degrees.

Anyway, no more embarrassing 360 degree spins for me. Several of us pilots tested this fix against Fair Skies on the Zone and it passes with flying colors. If you would like this fix for the three acft. mentioned, head to my site. It's in the MISC. section at the bottom.

IM refering to the stock aircraft in CFS_2 using stock scenery.

When I taxi with 3rd party fields or third party aircraft on stock fields it is not a problem, I do not think wheel size in this case is the issue or my ability to control the aircraft. The reason you have to use full power is to get the aircraft to go in a straight line other wise even a little power it will 360 to the left.

It is in the main CFS_2 Config file I think?

Thanks any way

No it isnt a joy srtick problem. every thing is working fine in CFS_1 FS_98 and FS_2000.

I have even re installed the CFS_2, Deleated the files

C:/Microsoft Games/CFS_2 deleated.

Defraged hard drive. Installed stock game. Same problem.

I thought there was a fix for this. I was on a sight and some one had made a fix for this issue.

I had to replace all the hard drives and lost the information on the fix.

I think it has to do with the Service Pack one from microsoft to resolve game crashing issues?

I just posted a nother taxi problem issue on this forum

Fireman thanks for the help. You were correct it was a tail wheel problem. I seldom or never fly the stock Corsair. I tried it and there wasnt any problems. So I did what you suggested and did the repair. Thanks again A and P
