Hi People, well I have moved to the dark side and bought a copy of CFS2.  I wanted to repaint the A6M2, but when I opened the file a6m2_zero_t.bmp In PSP, I got a garbage file.  I see the same garbage in all the texture folders.  I have however downloaded several textures from simviation and notice that they are very large files but work well showing up on the plane.  Could someone tell me how I am supposed to open the stock BMP files to repaint, or do I just us the template of someone elses repaint to do it? ?

I am also working on learning how to make CFS2 aircraft using FSDS V2Pro.  I have yet to decide what plane to make that hasnt already been made. Cry

Thanks

Die Staffel

Let me just first say "PHEW!"  I thought by your subject that you were going to paint some lousy 80's  boy band on your vertical stabilizer...lol

Seriously...I'm not familiar at all with the CFS side of things, but if it's any consolation, have you tried converting the file in Image Tool, the way you would with FS?

Just a thought...

you have to download a free program called DXT bmp to open up stock cfs2 textures. you can find DXT BMP by going on google and typing in "DXTBMP" and then DL it.

Good luck with your plane! I also model aircraft for flight sim's and am curently working on my second. It is also an old WWII bird. The Ju87 Stuka Cheesy

BTW there are plenty of neat planes out there just waitng to be made, and I am sure you will find a good one Wink

look forward to seeing your work, and I hope I could help Wink

Hi,
Thanks all, I have found how to do it now.  I think the first chance I get I will start with stock repaints, then do a few downloads, then do my own.

Thanks
