I picked up an old computer at a garage sale. I grab'em if the price is right. You can always use the CD-ROM, floppy, or if you're lucky it will have a "usable" HDD or even some RAM.
This was an old 450Mhz PIII slot 1.. (remeber those ? )..128MB of PC133. I think it was high-end computer in it's day, cause it has an AGP slot and a pretty decent (prob 32MB) V-card.
Anyway,, my point is : I cleaned up the HDD, put Win98 on it..and with AI turned off and all the scenery at default.. it runs FS2002 pretty darn well. I was surprised.
It kinda squelched my urge to built a 3Ghz P4 super computer, cause it reminded me that what I run now (AMD XP2600, 1GB RAM, 128MB V-card), is still pretty darn good
I guess it's all relative.
Now.. go check those garage sales.. ya never know what you'll find.
