The P-47 is the best for me. Easy to fly, forgiving, hard to shoot down, and pacts a mighty big punch.

What about the 262?!
If Hitler user her right, we would all be speaking German right now!
Not that I wanted the nazis to win or anything, but she was a very powerfull aircraft and could have changed the outcome of the war. The first true jet fighter/bomber.
Now to me that's some impressive aeronautical engineering!

actually the 262 revoulutionized airplanes but it came to late to have a big effect on the war. As a matter of fact, very few 262s ever even got a kill. I dont think the Me262 would have been a very successful aircraft, but yes it did change aviation forever

I like the Spitfire. The P-47 is nice to but it stalls very quick by my opinion. So does the P-51
. You don't have that very often with British planes. You got to admit, the UK was a good plane designer for WWII.

The reason that the ME262 came into the war so late was because Hitler didn't know beans about aircraft design and technology. He didn't realize the potential of the 262 in a fighter role and ordered that they be redesigned as a fighter/bomber and also have a 2 seat trainer designed before it was to be produced as a fighter. Then it became too late in the war for it to make any difference because Germany's means to produce the aircaft was hampered by the fact that the allies had bombed the hell out of the German factories. There was no longer any metal being produced to build the jet engines so finished 262 bodies were left in hangars with no engines attached to them. Only a few got into the war in the last months. The only way to shoot down a 262 (devised by Chuck Yeager) was to sneak up behind them when they were on their final approach to land and fill 'em full of holes just before they touched down. Would be interesting to try in CFS3.
P.S. I watch a lot of the Discovery Wings channel. Not to bad for some kid from Canada though eh.

If you got a problem with the P-51, fly the B model. The D model had another gas tank added behind the cockpit, and thats what makes it stall so quick. If you really want to fly the D, drain that tank before a fight and it will fly like the B.

Or in quick combat set the fuel level to 30%. She flies like a dream then.

I really like the Hawker Tempest. 4 cannons, nice thin wings (not like the fat stubs on the Typhoon), 2,000 lb warload, a flat H engine and supercharger (cant stand radial props). Give you all the power you need when you want it.

As a dutch dude, I only can thank you for correcting my English. Its good that at least somebody checks the spelling here. But I was wondering, what is a teacher doing on a game forum? 8)
PS.: Had 82% on my English exam I did this trimester.

When the P51's would take off to do combat, they would burn the fuel off in the center tank first to get better performance out of their aircraft during dog fights.
Otherwise, the aircraft would fly poorly.
I watch a lot of Discovery Wings too....

Anyway, talked about the educational stuff, I never heard about that Discovery Wings... . Don't they broadcast it in Belgium? Or is it on National Geographic maybe? I would be a shame if its not available here...

The only place that Discovery Wings Channel is avialable that I know of is in Canada. It is a specialty channel on the Rogers Cable Network(Costs lots of extra $$
). But it's a great channel to watch! There's tons of shows on all types of aircraft and space technology. It may be available elsewhere, but I'm not sure.

Typhoon is nice. It can go fast, is nice and solid and has fairly good armament. Spitfire is a porsche, Typhoon is a Humvee!

More of a Landrover I think. The Typhoon has fairly decent looks unlike the Humvee which is a metal box on wheels.
