Does the AI have an unfair advantage?  I was just messin' around in free flight, and I started a dogfight between a P-51B (me) and a P-47D (AI).  Everyone knows that the AI always climbs sooner or later, but the Jug is a horrible climber.  It it's worst characteristic, it can dive but it can't climb for beans.  Well, I was dogfighting this Jug for a while before he pulled up, I thought I had him...I'm closing in and I start firering at about 250 yards, and I see hits dance across his fuselage.  But I takes a lot to bring one down.  He keeps climbing as my Stang stalls out and I fall back down.  I watch him climb a little more, and then he turns over and stays at that altitute as if he didn't lose any airspeed!  But that's impossibe!  A P-47 can't out-climb a P-51!  I've also dogfighted between the Me-262 and the P-80.  I've flown both in combat and noticed that the Me-262 has a better turning radious.  But this doesn't seem to effect the AI...While flying a 262 the P-80 always seems evenly matched, and when flying the Star, the 262 seems to have to much of an advantage.  What happened?  Does the AI have an advantage?

Well you can say they have an 'unfair advantage' but i think they are much more agressive then the ones in CFS2. And way smarter. Im in a 109, Spits flying everywhere. My 3 wingmen are just clumbsy and stupid Undecided. they are shot down just a few seconds after the fight begins. So im all alone against 9 fighters. I take one Spit and burst him to pieces. Just as i get away from the wrekage of the spit, another Spitfire appears an badly damages me but i still have full control.  Some how though i get to turn around and punch some bullets into him, but he turns hard and flies low. I dont even notice another spit behind me as he fires a burst into my fuselage and wings. the plane starts to go outta control and i crash. i couldnt get that other kill in time although he eventually did crash...after i did.
In another instance im flying my spit and am almost done destroying this 109 when out of the blue, one of my own appears in front of me and finishes him off. Im thinking you know what i did to that Spit..... Angry

In my own opinion i think the AI is extremely smart, and the only unfair advantage i think is that their guns are like lasers when they hit you. It takes a whole lotta time to finish him off but hell rip you apart in an instant.
I think your own wingmen are the ones who are lacking 'potential'.

The AI does have some faults, both of which you two fine gentlemen already pointed out. Wink Cheesy But the 'laser' guns aren't that bad if you don't stay on a constant turn or whatever.  Unless of course the gun is a 40 mm or so. Shocked Look out then!I would say you're not crazy; I was in a 262 vs. a P-55 on rookie level, and he still managed to climb just as high as I could after going into about a 80* climb to escape him.  Kind of ridiculous.  Makes it seem more like a game than a simulation.  The worst thing though, is that even after the lessons of CFS2, your wingmen still... well... suck. Undecided
