I don't know why, but everytime I try to edit a panel in MSAE it crashes ??? can anyone help?

If you mean FSEdit that is one buggy piece of software & not worth bothering with. IMHO
I suggest trying CfgEdit.

Not fully FS2002-compatible (it can't read XML gauges) but perfectly usable & won't crash unexpectedly.

Yeah, I know what you mean by buggy
I will get that program, just one question though. Will it read and edit the normal *.gau gauges? Thanks
