Great shot!!!!!! I agree a huge loss to aviation, that is unless virgin buy it..........But i will never be the same. sorry to anyone who loves virgin but it just will not be the same I would much prefer to see it in the British Airways livery, BA now thats proper flying!!!

Thanks for all the comments guys!  Grin

Here is a good question, if Virgin were to buy it, would they leave it white, or paint it silver?

I always thought the paint on Concorde was developed to be heat resisitant. Those that have ever seen a Concorde for real will know what I mean - it's very, very bright white Grin

I suppose the properties of silver paint lend themselves quite well to high temperature apllications.....the mind boggles!

found this for ya...........

High-reflectivity Paint
Because the Concorde moves faster than sound, the air pressure and friction (collision with air molecules) really heat up the plane. The temperature of the aircraft's skin varies from 261 degrees Fahrenheit (127 degrees Celsius) at the nose to 196 F (91 C) at the tail. The walls of the cabin are warm to the touch. To help reflect and radiate this heat, the Concorde has a high-reflectivity white paint that is about twice as reflective as the white paint on other jets.

Cheers for that Rifleman, I wonder if the cost of developing a silver 'virgin-like' derivative of that high-reflectivity paint would prove prohibitive?

Aren't we talking about Richard Branson with his money............. ?  Shocked.....shouldn't be a prob if he has enough money to spend on a Concord........ 8)
