I have a fewaircraft that claim to have tailhooks.  None of the documentation I have seen tells how to deploy (if that's the right word) them.  Is there a standard command?

By default, there isn't a command for it, you need to go into the settings and add one

Jim some tailhooks won't move! They are purely there for artistic reasons! But once you've set a tailhook key you'll quickly find out what does and doesn't work.

I didn't expect them to be functional.  I just want to be able to see them see them when they're available.

It's just an optional animation like opening doors,  very few aircraft actually do have them. Some modelers will use it for something else. I've got the DreamFleet Cardinal and the tailhook animation is linked to the sunvisors Cheesy

Most that I've seen are deployed by using the speed brake.
But, there's a T-45 that deploys the hook when full flaps are set.
