Alternatively, you can press Alt+Enter to run FS2002 in windowed mode, and there's an option in the options menu to for "no pause on task switch", somewhere.

Doing the do not pause it surely do slow down oyur computer. Even though FS is running in the background i am pretty sure it will still be using resources.
I wouldn't recommend it.

I just set it to no pause like zcottovision mentioned above and then Alt Tab out of the game. You might want to get a little program called "I Will Be Back" (no relation to Arnold S.
) it's a utility that lets you set a number of miles to fly and it'll pause after that and sound an alarm. Pretty easy to miss your airport when doing other stuff while FS2002 is running.

This could explain the slow loading forums you & others are always complaining about. Running FS2002 while browsing would be a heck of a drain on resources.

Doug, I don't believe I've complained about the forums being slow because I get really slow connections in the first place so it wouldn't do me any good to complain to Pete. Also, running FS2002 in the background while browsing internet does seem to use resources, but not enough to stop me

Sorry Andrew. No offence intended. Complaining was too strong a word in your case. I was referring to your recent comments on how long it takes for some topics in the Screenshots forums to load on your system.
However, I'm quite certain that browsing while running any resource intensive program such as FS2002, or vice versa, is the main cause of many problems I see in these forums almost every day.

& Just to confirm - I'm sure what Hagar means is that it will cause YOUR system to run slowly - not these forums.
There are a whole range of reasons for a slow internet performance - the 1st port of call should always be a 'tracert' (In windows press Start/Run & type 'tracert

Precisely. From various screenshots I've seen posted by people with problems it often amazes me to see just how many programs/applications they have running while browsing. I assume this is also the case when they're trying to use FS2002 or other M$ sim. The performance of all machines, no matter how powerful, is limited by their available resources. Programs will run much faster & efficiently with all other unnecessary applications shut down. In the case of the sims this includes anti-virus applications (one of the biggest resource hogs) & even programs like WinAmp. Do you really need to listen to music while flying?

That's ok, you didn't offend me at all
My recent comments weren't directed at Pete or SimV in any way, it's my phone company that's too blame.
