I just bought an ATI Radeon 8500LE with 128mb of ram. Unfortunately I've noticed some problems, probably driver related. In some games (ie Jedi Outcast, Orbiter) I've noticed triangles quickly darting across the screen. I have the 3.4 drivers. Also does anyone know if there if a good tweak utility for Redeon cards. Riva Tuner doesn't support the new drivers.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Wink&&The Rig: &&AMD Athlon XP2000+ Palomino, ECS K7S5A 3.1, 1GB PC2700 DDR, Geforce FX5200 128mb, SB Live Platinum, 16xDVD, 16x10x40x CDRW, 40/60gb 7200rpm HDD, 325w Power, Windows XP Home SP1, Directx 9.0c with 66.81 Beta gfx drivers

like i said before, the 3.4 driver is waste! either you switch back to the 3.2 driver or you try to tweak it a bit with the control panel.

the probably best tuning software on the net is powerstrip (don't know the link, sorry),but it's not freeware!

Thanks, I'll try that. I'm still used to the Geforce cards but I saw the Radeon for half price and decided to get it.

Well I just figured out why the card was half price. I installed and reinstalled different sets of drivers, played with the settings, and it still wont draw the images properly. Plus it started doing it with all 3d games. It's not my system so it must be the card. I going to take it back to the store and either get my money back or exchange it for an Nvidia one.  Angry

Yeah I agree with ATI get the 9700 non pro or pro not that much difference but huge difference in price!!

I have a 9700 and its perfect.

PS. ATI I am running the new Catalyst 3.4's do other drivers run fs2002 better than these?

Thanks

I'm sorry but from what I've seen, Nvidia cards are far superior. I'm going to trade it in for a Ti4200.

NOticed all the praise of the NVidia stuff.  I am trying to upgrade to a GEForce FX 5600 256 meg card.....and with Direct X 9.0a and Win XP in FS 2002....it crashes the sim every time.

I have been told that the detonator drivers and Direct X 9 and Win XP and FS2002 will not work together by the card tech folks.

How is it that some of you are mentioning that it seems to be the BEST?????  I am totally confused.

best,

......................john
