Hiya,

I should think that you could use modern aircraft in the campaign, but wouldn't it be a little hard to get these things off carriers? I mean it's fine with a Wildcat but when you move onto Buccaneers and Hercules' then it can get a little bit tricky. Although, in the modern aircraft section is a raaaather faaast F-16 which accelerates like a ROCKET!!! From idling with pb's on to 160 mph in roughly three seconds!!! Very true to the original, I hear you sarcastically say, but really, that's just about the only Modern Aircraft I know that I guess can do it!
Try it anyway, and get back to me w/ the results!

thanks for the advice on the f16 but what i want to know is, once i've downloaded the planes, placed them in all the corrct folders, how do i fly them in a campaign? I have so far only been able to fly some in free flight with only guns, and not at all during the campaigns. Does anyone know how to get them in the campaigns?

Greetings, all. ACE, here, too bored an' tired to log in, so I Poofed in this.

You should be able to fly the imported aircraft in campaign and free-flight, along with all other modes, with no problems. As the time-line progress through the campaign, they should all become available.

How that works, I haven't a clue.

Hi,

If you are building a mission to add to a campaign you will need to set a start date after the entered service date of the aircraft. The entered service date is is held in the dp file for the aircraft. The other option is to change this to before the mission date. Open the dp file in Notepad and edit the line entered_service=11/11/66 and change the year to 39 or 40.

If you are wanting to fly against the plane in Quick Combat you will need to add the plane to the QC file using an editor. There is one in the Utilities or Misc downloads area here.

Hope this helps
