I have a Sea Fury and MkV FireFly, both post war FAA. Trouble is, I can't remember where I got the Firefly. Fury is a beta by Flying Start but Alphasim do a payware Sea Fury.
Oh and I have a Mk47 Sea Fire. That one is freeware from Alphasim.

Be great to see those planes. I think Dan at TLUK said he had a Sea Vixen in the works but that will be 2K2. I've also got a Buccaneer in FAA colours that I'm sure I got here somewhere.
Have fun with the Sea Fury, fantastic plane, just a shame it never got beyond a beta (the Flying Start one that is.)

This any good? Available soon.

...
All new FSDS2 design for CFS2 with full breaking parts, shiny textures etc. etc.

I would also like to see some of those classic naval jets like the Sea Hawk, Sea Venom, Sea Vixen, Buccaneer & the mostly ignored Supermarine Scimitar. Also the Wyvern & Gannet.

  O.K. guys, check out the "VFR Scenery" website. VFR Secenery has an addon for FS2000 and CFS2 titled "Royal Navy Aviation Collection".  The addon has over 30 Aircraft flown by the FAA including the SeaHawk, SeaVixen and Wyvern.  Drop in and visit the site, you might be pleased.

Thanks Denis. Unless I'm mistaken the CFS/FS2002 version has only 4 aircraft, 2 for each sim - the Gannet & Sea Vixen. The full 30 aircraft package is FS98/CFS1 quality. Good value all the same.

I've seen the FS98 thingy but its kinda old, as for the SeaVixen and Gannet I'd buy them if I could but they don't take my card.
The other sea Fury looks good as well Grin

Yep, you guessed it Tempest old pal. It's one of the new aircraft we're working on right now for future Commonwealth campaigns in the series. Not yet finished as you can see from my shot.

Nothing yet Craig. It's a new CFS2 Korean War project. Here's a sneak preview. http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2korea.htm
If you're interested I'll tell you when it's ready.

Don't worry guys, I'll keep you posted. We will be interested in your opinions of our work. Our aircraft will be included in the campaign packages. I'm not sure they will be available separately.

Hi,
Alphasim have got some good stuff, I've got the Phantom and Sea Vixen and they're very good. Unfortunately the Phantom doesn't have an arrestor hook so you have to stall it onto the deck. The Alphasim Buccaneer only works in FS2002 which is a shame. There is a real lack of Fleet Air Arm Aircraft for CFS2, I'd like to see a freeware Sea Fury, Wyvern, Firefly, Gannet (sounds like there already might be one), Sea Hornet, Sea Venom, Sea Hawk, Sea Vixen (although the Alphasim one I've got is very very good things are better when they're free!), Scimitar, Buccaneer and a Phantom (with arrestor hook) of 892 NAS. 8) 8)

Hi Will. I take it you're talking about payware. Alphasim very generously posted a lot of their older files as freeware, including a RN Phantom & Buccaneer. http://www.alphasim.co.uk/DL%20Freeware.htm These aren't the same quality as the proper CFS2/FS2002 stuff but they're worth checking out. There's also a very nice CFS2 (or FS2000) Buccaneer posted somewhere, maybe at SimV.

You can give any aircraft a virtual tailhook by adding the entry to Aircraft.cfg. This won't affect the visual model. Here's the entry from the CFS2 default Corsair which should do fine. You can adjust it to suit if you wish.

[TailHook]
tailhook_length=4                        ;(feet)
tailhook_position = -15.0, 0.0, -1.0            ;(feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum
cable_force_adjust = 1.0

Yes I was talking about payware, its a shame to have to pay for it but it is good stuff, if I can't find something freeware but I really want it I might buy it. Thanks for the tip on the tailhook.

I forgot to mention earlier but Its a real shame that there arn't any freeware RN Helicopters. Dragonflies, Whirlwinds, Wasps, Wessex's, Sea King's, Lynx's and Merlins! If you could have AI helicopters you could even have a plane guard! 848 NAS over Malaya could be a good campaign.

There's plenty of stuff out there if you look round. I found the FS2000 Buccaneer with a quick search. http://www.simviation.com/fs2000military16.htm Also a CFS2 RAF version by the same original designer. http://www.simviation.com/cfs2mod5.htm
I wouldn't mind betting the RN textures would fit. Add my CFG tweak & you have your RN Buccaneer.  Wink

Also plenty of FS2000 helos that work in CFS2. Some are a tad graphics intensive though. AI helos can be done but unless they're Gmax or FSDS2 models it's not worth it.

I got that one to work ages ago, added a DP file to it and a hook to the cfg. and started flying it of of the Oriskany (sp).
While were on the subject there arn't any angled deck RN carriers are there?
ie Ark Royal IV, Eagle, Centaur

Not seen any myself, although I haven't looked too hard. There might be some posted on one of the squad sites. A lot of CFS2 carriers seem to be repainted defaults which naturally have straight decks. The only original angled deck carrier I can think of right now is the remarkable USS John C. Stennis.

To the best of my knowledge there are no post war British CV's out there. I've got the Stennis myself and its fantastic to have an angled deck carrier. The model really is fantastic isn't it. Its a shame no one with the know how has thought about making Eagle, Ark Royal, Hermes, Victorious (post 1950-58 refit), Centaur or even the Commando Carriers Albion and Bulwark (originally part of the Centaur class but converted 1958-1961). The Invincible class would be great if you could find an FRS.1 or FA2 at CFS2 graphics standard. An old Colusus class would be fantastic for Hagars commonweaith campaign. 8)

Yeah I've got the Stennis and have praised it for well.......... forget how long I've had it. The Virtual USN did an post refit Oriskany, and the guy that did the Stennis did the Pricipe de Austious (Spanish flagship, kinda equal to Invincible class )
I've aso adapted an F-14 for use in CFS2 and have been flying it a lot lateley.
After about 30 mins the Stenis does a 180 turn, great fun landing on her during the turn 8).
