Well done Fozzer - Old Bean.  Cheesy
That site could come in very handy. I've found from experience that New is not always best. For example, I find my WinZip 7.0 suits me better than the latest version 8.1.

I have several programs that won't leave my add/remove programs list,  The original tweakUI could eliminate those, but the one with Windows XP can't.  I'm hoping the older one will still work.

Hi kd... Grin...!
After I posted the "Tweak ui" link, I thought I would give it a try myself....
Downloaded it, "installed" it, but it just got dumped in my Windows > Temp folder.... Cry... Cry.... Cry...!
There doesn't seem to be an .exe, (executeable), file included in the download, so that it doesn't install itself...
A successfull install should put a "Tweak UI", Icon in your Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel folder, but for some reason  this doesn't... Cry...!
Back to the drawing board again... Roll Eyes...!

By the way...
Have you tried "Addremove4good"?
It will often, (nearly always), remove stubborn programs from your Start Menu > Program Files list.... Grin...!

Have a look here for the download, (sorry about the pics on the Site)*..... Wink...LOL...LOL...LOL...!
MMMmmmmm..... 8)...!

scroll down to "Addremove4good".

Cheers mate.. Grin...!

P.S ...by the way, if you type what you are looking for in your Explorer Search Engine, it will often come up with the goods... Grin...!
P.P.S. ...*actually, it's worth a look just for the pics, (Fozzer, you dirty old buggar...)... Grin... Grin... Grin...!

I have TweakUI for W98.  It's a very strange install and you have to RTFM.  As I recall you have to move the .inf file to the windows folder then right click and select "install".

As long as you read the instructions you won't have any problems.

Hi Webb....!
Thanks for the tip, it works fine.
The download gets put into the Windows > Temp folder.
Right clicking on the TWEAKUI.inf file and selecting "Install" gets it all working and the TweakUI Icon appears in the Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel window...fantastic...!

Thanks again mate... Grin...!

...and for all those who are REALLY fed-up with Real Player, or the latest, over-complicated, versions of Windows Media Player, you can always go back to simple, good-old, mplayer2, my all-time favourite...LOL...!
(Some of the older versions of MSN Messenger are worth a look-at too)... Wink...!

Fozzer,

You are absolutely on track with the media players.  I have WiMP 7 only because it will do a few things that WiMP 6 wouldn't.  I can't see any reason to "upgrade" from that.  But I still have 6, just in case.

RealOne is loaded with spyware so I stick with RealPlayer 8.  Of course for music nothing can beat Winamp.  I still use 2.80 because even Winamp admits that 3.x doesn't sound better.
