My bad, im not a fan of sarcasm and i do not quite understand sarcastic people  Roll Eyes

Woodlouses comments were in my opinion, quite unpleasant, however to some other people it may not be. The British may have been offended if this were all turned around. I dont think Woodlouse meant to offend anyone and i do believe they still have free speech in his country. Anyways, to prevent an 'entanglement' woodlouse i suggest you remove the post

Well said Hawker......i was just scanning thru all the replies on this thread to see if anyone actually had put the most appropriate reply that could have been put on this thread.

I bet the martians are all sat at home saying the same thing as go about their daily business - imagine it from their side of the fence.......

'At midnight on the twelfth of August, a huge mass of luminous gas erupted from Earth and sped towards Mars. Across two hundred million miles of void, invisibly hurtling towards us, came the little bouncing ball that was to bring so much humour and excitement to Mars.
As I watched, there was another jet of gas. It was
another bouncy ball, starting on its way.

And that's how it was for the next ten nights. A flare, spurting out from Earth - bright green, drawing a green mist behind it - a beautiful, but somehow disturbing sight. plakplak, the planet searcher, assured me we were in no danger. He was convinced that there could be no living thing on that small, funny looking planet.'

I guess we will find out if Ogilvy was correct on Christmas Day when beagle2 arrives.........

and here's a thought......
Perhaps thats where the weapons of mass destruction are being hidden....................

Oh yes.............that was a memoral evening................and on their own turf too.
thing is, i dont think we will see that type of result again tho.............

After reading the posts i went off hunting any info on the new war of the worlds movie.......sad news....doesnt look like it is going to go ahead....it was delayed after 9/11 for approx 12 months, then there was a huge rights wrangling involving Jeff Wayne( he wouldn't release the rights to use the same storyline or titles or imagery) and since then, its been held in limbo. The production co. seems to be investing all its time in some project called 'Chrome'

Last thing I read about the new movie was that it would be a remake of the 50's "B" movie version and not the original story. What a shame, I would love to see it done right and set in period. I've always wanted to see the Thunderchild take down the fighting machine as the steamer escapes.
