TRANSLATION

a bird was sucked into the fan of a K-Fir of the Colombian Air Force and "shot it down" 16 miles from its home base in Puerto Salgar in the Magdalena Medio region this afternoon. the pilot got out un injured



sad aint it???

due to the war in y country our air force has been "forgotten" and the money goes mostly to the army and navy Tongue as far as  i know we have like 5 or 10 k-firs left and like 5 mirages M5 Sad 6 OV-10's and a few A-37's

anyways, i just wanted u to know.... good thing the pilot bailed out Grin

The aircraft that belong to the Combat Air Commander No. 1, was executing a mission of navigation at 5000 feet when suffer the ingestion on a turbine of a bird that cause its deaden. The pilot tries to turn on the turbine and when he could not do it and due the proximity to the terrain, he eject from the aircraft being rescued unhurt.

Specialist of the Combat Air Commander No. 1, are executing the rescue of the aircraft that falls on the Magdalena River.

At least the pilot is okay. Aircraft can be replaced, human lives can't...

i gotta post quick cause im from school and im not alowed to do this Roll Eyes lol.... anyway....

u r both right, thats the good side of the news Grin the a/c ended up on a river..... the airforce says that they will send a "rescue team" to get the plane back..... my dad says that is insane to try to get the plane out....its too expensive and the river is the most caudalous in my country Tongue

if u want to look it up is the Magdalena River in Colombia Grin

Hmmmmmmm.....
Yeah, it's sad... this airplane was probably in the IDF/AF too.
But the A/C's name is Kfir-not K-Fir... Kfir is a word from the bible that means Lion Cub.
What model was that Kfir? C-7?

Wink got it Smiley well dunno what model was it  Lips Sealed the planes were bought brand new from Israel in the early 80's i think, i bet if u ask around ur place u can prlly find some info, its a bit too hard for me since i dont live in Colombia any more Tongue

i didnt know about the meaning of the name, lol inspires fear doesnt it?? Grin hehehehe
