Hi Everyone,

Everytime I install a new aircraft, I'm given an error message the first time I try to select it in the fs2002 menu.  It says something to the effect of:

'aircraft model not in library'

I have no Idea where this library is, and didn't really care untill recently because the planes work just fine regardless.

The problem is that I can't use any of them for AI traffic.  I've been successful at setting up a flight plan for a repainted default plane, but as soon as I try to put a 3rd party plane in there, it doesn't show up.

I thought the two might be connected. Any thoughts?

Dwight. ???

The error message is usually a one-off that appears when you load a new aircraft without re-starting FS2002.

Re-start and see if you're still encountering the problems you mentioned.

It sounds to me like the aircraft.txt part of your traffic.bgl has been corrupted. Have you tried copying a traffic.bgl file over from your FS2002 cds?

You're a genius!

Replaced the Traffic.bgl and presto, no more error message.  I even got a freeware plane to show up as AI traffic...

...ok, so it didn't have any gear down, minor point.  I'll follow the other thread on hover-planes and see  if there's a fix.

Thanks for the help.

Older non-GMAX planes tend to hover without their undercarriages when used as AI. I don't think there's anything you can do, except use a different GMAX-based plane.
