On the 31st I posted the problem of FS locking up at random times while flying. This morning I measured the temperature of the heat sink on my GF4 MX420 64meg while flying. The temp reached 119 deg F. I installed a fan to blow directly on the sink. I have been flying multiple acft for 12 hrs, all sliders
max no problems at all. I have no idea if 119 deg is too much for reliability or not? Appreciate any observations in this regard.

Sounds pretty hot to me LOL.

If the additional cooling has resolved the freezing problem I think you've found your answer.

I assume you've had the case off and a normal room fan blowing on the card which isn't practical (or advisable) for long term use.

Try installing a case fan at each end of your case, one sucking in and one blowing out. this should significantly increase the flow of air and would hopefully produce similarly effective results.
