Until recently, FS ran fine, no problems. Now, my brakes are perpetually applied and I cannot turn them off. I think it is a hardware problem with my CH yoke and pedals. I have tried everything I can thik of short of a reinstall including: calibration, reassignment of controls, and FSUIPC. I need help with this issue as I can no longer taxi or takeoff without slewing.  Angry Sad Roll Eyes Cry

Unplug your joy stick and see what
happens,
You may need to reinstall the stick
driver
Or [please no] you may need a new
joystick

I've had these bloody rudder pedals for less than six months, and at $120 a pop, I don't really care to buy new ones. I'm getting ready to call CH Products and tell them to shove these up their ass. I've tried unplugging them, reinstalling drivers, and everything else I could possibly think of. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. If nothing works, then somebody at CH Products will receive a severe cussing.

Do these joysticks and pedals have a USB connection?
If so it may be a static electricity issue. I have a brand new Wingman joystick and it started doing the same thing.
I unplugged and touched the end of the USB against a piece of metal to take the static out of it and then plugged it back in and it has worked great since.

You might want to give that a try....

Also, if your pedals have toe brakes, you can pop open the cover on the bottom and check the actuator for damage or if it's just dirty. Dust, (and static), can do funny stuff to your equipment.

I will try taking the cover off. Is this something that could mess up my edals forvever if I do it, or is it a process that Joe Ordinary could do without screwing it up?

have your run flight sim with the pedals and stick unplugged? if so and there is still a problem then its obviously them.
i noticed you said you unplugged them i dont know if you ran flight sim without them though

ARGGGGGGG!!! WAIT!!!!

When you take the cover off CH rudder pedals you have to be VERY careful.

The wiring is extremely fragile and the springs have a tendancy to pop out. Do it VERY carefully!!!

It's okay, Tipster. I took the coveroff and blew what little dust there was off of it. It didn't work. I'm at my wit's end and I am desperate for help.

Out of curiosity have you tried the other suggestions already listed?  ???
I am assuming you have and its still not working but its nice to know if suggestions are tried or not!  Grin

If you've tried all the suggestions, above and went through the Troubleshooting Guide in the hardware's documentation, then maybe it time to contact CH Customer Support.

Maybe they have some "magic" fix.

Ok - let's start from the beginning.

If you disconnect the pedals, does the brake problem go away?

If you have another stick with a button you can use for brakes, try it and see if all is well when using that.

I have a couple of CH products specific possible solutions but it depends on the connection type (USB or gameport). Which is yours? and precisely what model number are your pedals?

If your connection is via gameport, which sound card do you have?

Don't give up yet - there are one or two possibilities left to explore.

Here's one to try before needing to answer all the above questions:

Go to the joystick assignment menu (when you have opened the game and clicked on settings). Pull up your pedal assignments and click on reset default. What this does is to check or "X" the "reverse" boxes on the brake assignment column for the left and right brakes. Without those boxes checked, your brakes will remain on once you apply it.

All is well when the pedals are unplugged. They are connected using USB. The are CH Products Pro Pedals, obviously featuring toe breaks. By the way, I have an onboard Sound Blaster card, not ure what model, though.
