~S~ all,

A question regarding the RAF662 ADF facility in CFS1 (and what a great little tool that is!).

Could anyone let me know how to create ADF beacons and number associations so they can be programmed into new sceneries and used with the ADF gauges along with the standard list? I guess what I need to know is:

* If the number 777 is associated with the Ark Royal, how would I go about associating the number 778 with another airfield?

The very useful programmable GPS100 gauge has served me well, but it doesn't really 'feel' WW2 enough in the cockpit, if you know what I mean...

With thanks in advance,

Pads. Which scenery design program are you using? It's along time since I used CFS1 & I never used the ADF feature myself. First, I think you would need to add an NDB to the airfield/carrier. This is an option on the Radio Objects menu in FSSC. You can assign any Ident & Frequency you wish.

Hi Hagar,

Exposing myself as a newbie here - I've been using the built-in scenery editor in CFS1 Wink

I was hoping it was possible to open up a .bgl file in a text editor and backwards engineer a solution that way, but was having problems getting the files open in a readable format.

I will certainly dowload and check out FSSC though. Thanks for your help on this. Looks a very useful program indeed.

Cheers,

OK. As you're new at scenery designing maybe read through some other topics on this board. You might like to get the latest version of FSSC direct from Derek Leung's site. http://fssc.avsim.net/downloads.html I think you could create an invisible airport with FSSC adding just the ADF beacon. This won't mess up your existing scenery.

There are utilities for decompiling BGL files for manual editing but FSSC should be much easier.  Wink
