I seem to have a problem with my visibility and wanted to know if anyone else out there has had the same issue.  I have a gForce 4 mx440 card.  When I set the visibility to a minium through the weather settings, and check the advanced setting such that it applies to ground level, when it loads up you get what you expect and can only see 10 - 20 metres of the runway in front of you, great.  I take off in the mist but when I come in to land I hit about 700 feet and I get bright conditions with perfect visibility.  There is an invisible ceiling to the zero vis, ie you can fly in and out of zero vis and perfect vis, and you don't get that effect of the runway appearing through the fog, any ideas??

I also have a GF4 MX440.

The best way of achieving visibility effects correctly with any graphics card is via FSUIPC.

If you don't have it, you can get it here:

Here is a screenshot of my FSUIPC settings that get me the kind of limited visibility I'm looking for:

It might not be exactly what you'd want, but a little experimentation with the numbers should get you there and it doesn't suffer from the invisible ceiling or the infamous "blue band" across the horizon.
