Hello again. OK I grabbed FS 2002 so which 2 add-ons would you recommend?
Thanks: John

If you are into realism, I would get the following two addons:
1. FSNavigator (an incredible flight planner)
2. ActiveSky wxRE (realistic and actual weather that is dynamic, along with weather planning and replacements for the lame clouds, TStorms, etc. that shipped with FS)
Both are payware, but similar (but less rich) freeware options exist.
After that, I would get an airport scenery from SimFlyers and use it as your home airport. I start every flight out of Philly (KPHL) as I fly out of there frequently on commercial flights. The SimFlyers add-on for the airport adds gates, taxiway signs, fuel trucks, service vehicles buzzing around, and more.
Finally, FS Tipster (a frequent contributor here) has made a modified panel for the default Baron 58 that is fabulous. Once I installed it (and tweaked the default settings to make the flight dynamics more realistic using tips he provided), I won't fly any other plane.
opps, i guess I recommend 4 add-ons, not 2! P.S. FSPlanet is a no-no to mention around here--just ask FS Tipster why...

FS is like that potato chip. "You can't eat just one."
I definately agree with you on FSNavigator and the Baron panel. Other stuff that might be nice later is the Xiaoshan (ZSHC) scenery if his computer can handle it. This is the most amazing scenery I've seen in FS2002.
Inside:

And Outside:

But it's a real framerate killer.

Like Matt said, you just can't get enough of it, but it's the best addiction you will ever have

Hey, Matt...How did you get those shots? Is there a way to actually get in an airport, or is it a dwnload you have to get?

It's a scenery package you have to download to use, but it realy eats your frame rates

If you want a real challenge then Flight Deck III is good, it has the Arrestor Cables program, and lots of carriers. That really is intensive for landings! Oh and you can catapult launch with it too. Depends what you want really.

I recomend going through simviation and looking at all the different freewares it has to offer. Then go to avsim.com and look at all their freewares. Then go and check out the paywares. You will have plenty to keep you busy just by starting here.....

It's in the Scenery section of Simviation Downloads. Look for ZSHC or Xiaoshan. If you have the computer to run it it's amazing. I'm running an AMD 1800+ Athlon and 512 Megs of PC133 DDR RAM on Windows 98 SE. My video card is a GForce 2 MX400. I usually get around 8 Fps at Xiaoshan while running a web browser, Firewall, Norton AV and a couple small utilities.
I got the screen shots by turning off the panels and instruments and using the "Slew" command to move around. The outside is just as detailed as inside with moving traffic and trees that move with the breeze. I particularly loved the taxi aids on the parking ramps. It has automated signs that tell you whether to turn right or left and when to stop.

Out of everything I've added to my sim, which includes freeware and payware, I am still very impressd by dreamfleets greatest airliners 737-400, it comes with tons of textures by way of Text-O-Matic and is great to fly, I also have Ready for pushback 747-200 but haven't messed with it too much, only comes with a couple of textures though, unless you want to pay $10.00 a pop for 3 or 4 extra textures.
As far as freeware, I find myself using the Dessault Falcon 50 quite a bit, I don't remember the details, but I downloaded it from here.
There is just so much great stuff available, I find myself spending more time downloading than actually flying.
I'm hoping to have a high speed connection in the future to help remedy this situation.
&&Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...&&

- remember the saying: "Work expands to occupy the time available to do it"?
Trust me - a high speed connection won't get you any more flying time, it will just increase the amount of downloading you do! Downloading is an addictive activity and you'll just end up needing a bigger hard drive LMAO.
Got to go, I'm due in the Download Rehab clinic...

I'm sure I would be listed as ' potentially dangerous' or as a 'chronic offender'
