Hi,

I have installed a new vintage prop on my FS2002. It has a very nice gmax model - but from cockpit position there is nothing left or right behind me. I would like it to see the turning props and the wings. I had used some other older models where such a feature was included.  Is it depend from the exterior model? Is there a possibility to use the existing (of course) exterior wings an blades for an "active wing view" from cockpit position?

Thank you all for your help. I hope you know, what I wanted to ask.

Not all aircraft come with a DVC or even with interior views.

Hi Zacke...!
..like Andrew says, not all designers include the bitmap files for the external view of the wings, etc, from the cockpit.
Some of my favourite old planes, (often from FS 2000), don't include the files.
It's a shame but I don't think you can do anything about it... Cry...!

Cheers mate...

P.S. some of the side views from the cockpit can be completely black...!

Actually, if you know how, you can add interior and exterior view to panels, but their static bitmaps

Fozzer. There are 2 different methods for interior views. The FS2000 default aircraft have no DVC & the interior views are part of the panel. Very few 3rd party aircraft designed for FS2000 have a DVC either so this feature became popular with panel designers. Most of the FS2002 defaults have a proper DVC including interior views of the aircraft visual model. This means they no longer need the extra views in FS2000-style panels.

This is not right. I suspect these aircraft have FS2000-style panels with a bug in the side view windows. Give me an example & I'll check it out.

Hi Andrew...!
you beat me to it me old mate... Wink...!
I was going to add the word "easily" to the above...LOL...!
It's the problem you get when you press the key-pad 1 to 9 keys, (num-lock on), to get outside views of your wings, etc. from the cockpit and all you see is just your outside scenery floating by.... 8)...!
I have tried adding bit-maps from similar planes to my various folders and modifing the air files, etc, without much luck.
I am sure it can be done, but it needs a bigger brain than mine to do it...LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Cheers Andrew... Grin...!

This is what I meant by aircraft without a DVC. The interior views are part of the panel, not the visual model & nothing to do with the AIR file. The easiest way to fix it would be to find a 3rd party FS2000-style panel for a similar aircraft & install it. The only problem with this method is that it's only suitable for one particular aircraft as the views of exterior parts will not match.

DVC...?
...is that anything like the George Cross...?
LOL...!

I think the plane with the black side views, (keypad),  was an early FS 2000 Beaver, (I mentioned it a long time ago in the old Ultraboard Forum)...
...now that is a LONG time ago...!
Got the latest Beavers now, so prob sorted, thank goodness... Grin...!
..still, I think even some of the FS2002 planes don't  always include the external side views from the cockpit...?

No they don't. If they have their own panels the exterior views are not compulsory. LOL
As I'm sure you're well aware, a lot of 3rd party aircraft have aliased panels. In this case it would depend on which aircraft they're aliased to. If it's the FS2002 default Lear45 or Mooney you might get some very strange effects as these are straight out of FS2000.  ??? Roll Eyes Grin

All my DH Beavers, (radial engines), for FS 2002 have a "virtual cockpit", using the "S" key... Grin...!

...

All the controls can be accessed from this screen...!

Fozzer. Let me get this right. Are you saying the  gauges function & the mouseable functions work in Virtual Cockpit mode? If so, maybe you can tell me where to get these amazing animals. AFAIK the interactive DVC is one of the latest features of FS2004.  ???

PS. All the radial engined Beavers I've seen are updates of Fred Banting's FS2000 version with a static virtual cockpit. The panel is a BMP image without functioning gauges. They are certainly not mouseable.  Roll Eyes

Hi Hagar....!
A pic of the FS 2002 Radial Beaver VC panel....

...

The controls respond to the Keyboard and Joystick buttons/movements.
The gauges/radios respond to actual conditions.

This particular shot shows the main switch flipped to "on", the flaps set to climb, the throttle set to minimium, the Prop control set to coarse, the Mixture control set to rich, and the yoke pushed forward.....

My confusion....the controls are not "mouse-able", but respond to keyboard/joystick inputs on the fly...

The bitmap panel on the latest FS 2002 Beavers are slightly different to Fred Bantings original FS 2000 ones, (which, actually, I prefer, but I think they gave me probs with external views from the cockpit...)...!

...need another Paracetamol....LOL...!

Cheers...
Paul.
(England).

P.S. a couple of my lovely Beavers appear on the "Raw Screen Shots" thread....Lost Isle...

Ah OK. That's a conventional DVC like the defaults. I haven't seen this version & you still haven't told me where to get these creatures.  ???

I'm sure I fixed that old FS2000 panel for you once before. I knew I would regret getting involved in this & I'm sure poor Zacke who asked the original question is now more confused than either of us. I'm off for a lie down in a darkened room for a few hours to recover what's left of my marbles.  Tongue

Hi Hagar....
While you have been lying down and resting, as is your wont, I have been searching the internet in an attemot to find the source of my DH Beavers....
