According to "Aeroplane" Magazine a few months back Boeing are restoring an example of the B-29 back to airworthy status in Seattle. From memory Boeing employees are donating their time to complete the project - i have no idea as to its current status. If one is correct i think it was being started after the Stratoliner was repaired after it's forced landing in that river.

It seems that this B-29 has faired better than the one that Daryll Greenamyer tried to recover from the frozen tundra of Greenland and wasn't successful.....one crew member lost and one B-29 lost  Undecided

Fantastic shot and nice plane. Where did you grt it from?

Boeing have been restoring a B-29 on the original production site now for quite a few years but I've not seen anything about it since a doco on History gave it a mention a few months back. I can only think of FIFI as a flyer and I don't know of another anywhere, but there are a few examples about so you never know. The B-29 at Duxford was flown in when it arrived, but it is now very much static, sadly.
