Thanks Justin Smiley

I have packs for restoring default AI from PAI. I'm a little paranoid about this stuff because I'm comparitively new at it and I don't want to end up having to re-install if at all possible lol.

Is it safe to just run that and that will put everything back (flightplan wise) as it was before installing PAI packages?

The other question I have is that I assume you don;t normally do an automatic install if you're using these plans. What options do you check on a manual install?

Don't worry Tipster the restore packs won't do anything but make everything as it was before installing PAI. If you find that there's a pack for the airline you want to install on the PAI website but want to install the Most Realistic AI routes then you should go to custom install then uncheck the flight plans box so the program only installs the textures. Then after the textures are installed you want to reassign the numbers in the aircraft.txt to match the numbers for the airlines' flights in the flightplans.txt. I know it's not fool proof but take your time and you should be able to get everything working right. I know the first time I did it with the Northwest airlines it took nearly 3 hours because I had to download so many repaints and I messed up the flight plans. You can contact me on MSN if you'd like jlvandem@hotmail.com

I ran the restore default Commercial AI package and my Traffic.bgl is the same size (over 30mb), the PAI aircraft are still in the aircraft list and (having just looked at it) the PAI flight plans are still in the flightplan list?

Any ideas?

(If anyone wants to send me a default traffic.bgl file I'd be grateful LOL)

The piper Cherokee is an AI aircraft and is why you can't select it, how ever the files you need in order to select and fly the piper and the MD 80 and the Dash 8 100 can be found on  www.flightsim.com ; You have to become a member but it's free and it's the number one flight sim site on the web. Happy Flying!!  Roll Eyes

I have to agree with tipster, the "all nodes are currently busy" greeting I always get at flightsim.com regardless of the time of day is very frustrating.

Hey Tipster I've done some research and I've figured out how to completely restore back to your default traffic then you can begin installing all of the Most Realistic AI routes. The first time you ran TTOOLs the program automatically took your default traffic.bgl and renamed it to traffic_ORIGINAL.bgl so all you have to do is go to FS2002\SCENERYDB\ATC then find traffic.bgl and delete it and then rename traffic_ORIGINAL.bgl to traffic.bgl. I'm at school right now so I can just get my default traffic.bgl file and e-mail it but if you want I could e-mail it as soon as I get home. Then after you have the traffic back to default I'm assuming you understand how to add the Most Realistic AI routes. Just post if you have more questions.

Thanks Justin! I'd forgotten all about that file.. Roll Eyes

Anyway, I've retrieved the original from the CD now.
One last question before I start installing the new flightplans:

I still have all the textures, A.I. aircraft models etc. installed. I am correct in assuming that traffic.bgl is the only file I need to be concerned with regarding flight plans am I?

Hi all,
I'll try and clear a couple of things up for you.

First, site navigation at ProjectAI seems to be a bit of a nightmare for some, but, just like anything else, the more you use it, the more you find your way around.
The site nav will remain for the moment as we've got bigger fish to fry ...... Shocked

Second, in case most of you didn't know,  a lot of the PAI files already use flight plans from Most Realistic.  So, you may simply be inserting the same thing your deleting.   Cheesy

I hope this clears it up for you.....and oh BTW John...backup everything...and keep it...LOL

Good Luck,
KJ

Looks like Kevin and Zcotto beat me this time. I'm suprised by what Kevin said though. Now it seems like I'm just wasting my time. I'm curious Kevin do you guys have a list of all of the packages that us the Most Realistic AI routes? That would be extremley helpful so I don't sit and waste my time which could be spent looking for repaints for airlines currently not available as a package. Thanks.

Ok ...lol....I'm looking at that page now. It shows the status of the flightplans, but where does it say which ones are included in the PAI packages?
