Guys, I'm still not familiar with the TTool and happened to add some flights on the flightplan config file. This caused some planes taxiing on the grass or doing other funny things...Which is the problem ? As I knew the TTool doesn't interfer with the regular taxiways activities. If not, is there a way out ?

Thanks

All TTools does is add, remove or modify AI aircraft.

What you need is Afcad. It's designed to modify the airports. You can modify the taxi routes with it

Let me get this straight : all AI tools may modify the taxi patterns of the aircrafts ?

No, not at all. Only AFCAD will that I know of.

Apart from the taxiiing problem, you haven't mentioned what the other side effects were.

Possible causes are using non-Gmax aircraft for A.I. and setting your cruise/altitude to unrealistic levels for the aircraft you've assigned. But it obviously depends what the other problems are.

If you haven't used AFCAD to alter the taxiway paths before, then I wouldn't advise doing it now in an effort to solve this problem. They almost certainly haven't changed and you'll be making the problem worse by moving them rather than better.

Get Afcad and install it. Read the instructions that come with it and then start it up while you've got FS2002 already running.

Assuming you already have FSUIPC installed, the 2 progs will then be linked and you can Alt-Tab between them.

Open one of your 'problem' airfields in AFCAD and position your aircraft anywhere on the airfield by slewing. Alt-Tab to AFCAD and you will see that your position is shown by a red cross.

Also in Afcad you can see all the parking spots, runways, taxiways and stuff.

In FS2002 slew to a point (usually choose the end point) where you want your 'problem' taxiway to be.

Alt-Tab into Afcad and you can see how far out the current taxiway is from where you want it to be. Drag and drop the approriate point in Afcad to the red cross (ie where your aircraft is placed).

Repeat as often as you want to correct all the badly positioned taxiways. Save the final result and Afcad will replace the airfield filein FS2002 and make a backup of the original in case you have cocked up in any way.

Easy.

Points to note.

Use a small aircraft - I find the Bell is about ideal.

When you move things around remember that if aircarft need to pass close by each other the prog demands more space than you tink otherwise they just stop.

If you go crazy and start adding taxiways and stuff all over the place, you have to rememer that as in real life you get traffic flows. If 2 planes come together from diferent directions the whole airfield will eventually seize up.

I'm sure that everyone who uses this prog will agree it's great fun!

Remember, they can't touch you for it.....(an old English saying)

Thanks guys. Apart from aircrafts taxiing on the grass or parking on it (by the way, is it possible that when all the gates are busy FS randomly parks the AI arcrafts on the grass ?) I have not encountered any other problem. The only thing I want to be sure of is that adding AI flights will not cause to have aircraft taxiing on the grass  ???

Thx

No, if there isn't a vacant parking place of the correct size for the AI aircraft just landing it will disappear like magic on the runway.

By the way, this is what the AFCAD and TTools firum is all about. Why don't you go look down there, and especially look back at posts over a few weeks. This kind of thing is all covered very thoroughly.

I'm getting the idea that this probably isn't related to your flightplan adjustments...

Is the airport this happens at an add-on? If so, the taxiways and parking spots are often differently aligned to the default. In these instances you can either look for an AFCAD already produced to correct this for the specific scenery add-on or alternatively produce your own in line with Rollerball's instructions above.

No, this happens on Venice airport (default, not add on). Anyway I'll have a look at some weeks ago posts.

Thx
