Go to the program file
and make sure it didn't
leave a file when you
did the uninst. if you have
added any thing it may still
be there

I have the same problem, but with a totally unecessary file, I think it is some guage for the Corsair, and I, therefore, can no longer do a full install. Try the compact install and see if that helps at all.

Both problems sound like CD's that have deteriorated.

If you contact Microsoft, they will usually replace them free of charge as long as you return the originals.

I had a similar problem with a file left behind in Fonts at 12%. See if the uninstall has left an incomplete FS2002 folder before you try again, you may find that file in there. Delete it and you should install OK.

This sounds like a virtual memory problem. Try disabling any anti-virus programs you have running before installing FS2002. These are known to cause problems when setup is extracting those compressed CAB files.

I called MS a while back and asked for repalcements. The guy asked if I still had the cheap cardboard case for an ID number and I answered 'no'. He told me that a replacement just for disc one would be twenty some-odd dollars. Needless to say, I promptly told him that it was okay, that I would just make do.
