anyone from UK see this program?? i have to say it was definatly eye opening to say the least, and whats scarey is something like that is just bound to happen, and soon.
and for those who didnt see it, a quick rundown, goes something like this.
the program is set in the near future, just after a train crash in scotland which causes the entire rail network to go on strike, that in turn creates huge problems for the roads, then a few accidents cause an almost complete shut down of britains motorways, which then creates a huge knock on effect into the air network, which is where the major problem in this program started, airtraffic controllers turn up late for work others have to work late and that means more mistakes, then they have to double up sectors meaning even more chance for accidents. then one controller who is almost into the final minutes of her extended shift, looks away for a few seconds then suddenly realises that a plane who is second on final to heathrow is going faster than the plane in front, but it has been handed off to tower which is already stuck with major problems so they dont answer the phone for the go around warning till the last second, at which time another plane has been given take off clearance without the knowledge of the go around, and then a few seconds later, boom, mid air collision, and then it goes into the aftermath of this and so on. may have only been a fictional program but it does bring up some serious truths.
those who did see it.

No, I didn't see it. Apart from the air crash it sounds like a pretty normal day to me. Have you tried to get into Heathrow on the M25 lately? LOL

This actually happened last winter on the M11. Some people were trapped in their cars for something like 16 hours. Fortunately, nobody died. It was caused by no more than 2 inches of snow.

Sounds like a typical day in Toronto.
I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.

Thanks Craig. I watched the first 10 minutes or so. It's a timely warning. Let's hope it makes someone in authority sit up & take notice before it really happens. Somehow, I don't think it will make any difference.

Didn't see the program, but I have to say it sounds all to plausable. Until someone important politically or one of their family dies because of something like this, no government would give a flying blue monkey.
That is just how it is in Britain (and quite a lot of the rest of the world from what I've seen). A terrible waste of life because of a small number of
self-centered imbeciles
politicians.
Ozzy
Ps. If anyone disagrees with me on this take a long hard look at Britains rail service record since privatisation and tell me I'm wrong
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
