Hi, I hope someone could help me with my Problem.

I recently bought CFS2 an installed it. Everything is working fine except flying a campaign. Sad

The Trainingflights, Single Missions - no Problem. Then I choose the Campaign, create a Pilot and click on "Go Flying" it returns me immediately to Desktop.

Tried almost everything, defragment the Harddrive, new Installation, No-CD Patch, reduce Hardware Sound Acceleration, reduce Graphics Detail, nothing worked...

It's a fresh Installation without any Add-Ons, my System:

WinXP
German CFS2

AMD Athlon 900
512 MB SDRAM
GF2 Ti (Gainward)

Any kind of Help is welcome.  Smiley

I've never come across this problem before, especially with no addons installed. Are you sure you didn't modify something?  ???
It sounds like a corrupt database file but could be caused by almost anything. The German version of CFS2 might well be different to mine. No two systems, even with identical specs, will be set up exactly the same. My own CFS2 will very occasionally CTD for no apparent reason when I try something new for the first time. It usually fixes itself & all is fine next time I try it.

I have no knowledge of WinXP but from the problems I see in this & other forums it's a tad quirky at the best of times. There is a known issue with one particular WinXP update. Read Ramsa's "Important!" topic in the FS2002 forum. I can only suggest you get the latest drivers for all your hardware & install DX9. Please tell me if you fix it.

Thank you Hagar for your suggestions.

There was definately no modifikation, the Installation was absolutely "fresh" (Re-Installed it a few Times to see if it was a Read-Error on the Disc or something...).

I didn't update this XP-Fix that Ramsa mentioned in his Post. And I tested the newest Drivers and DX9, nothing helped.

It's "funny" to see that CFS1 and FS2002 are running without any Troubles...  Roll Eyes

Meanwhile I've given up and brought it back into the Shop, got my Money back (at least one thing that's positive).

When I can afford it to Upgrade my Computer I'll give CFS3 a try. Wink

I had a similar problem. In a CFS2 mission, every once in a while, it's CDT. I think its an XP problem, with something line an aircraft or a piece of scenery not being defined properly.  I have no idea of how to track it down.

PS. I wouldn't waste my time with CFS3. Get add on missions for CSF1, get a hot computer, and crank up the graphics. I think the secenery is as good as CFS2, the missions all work well.  CFS3 is a PAIN!
