This has happend to me twice now while in Africa once at Walvis Bay and now Kilimanjaro Intl. I am on final. ATC clears me to land and says I'm #1 for landing and the second I touch the runway they say I'm not cleared to land and to clear the runway. Both airports have only a single runway and I'm going the right direction. This time I had a learjet behind me and ATC told them to follow the airplane on finals so I know I was right where I should have been.

Think I need a recorder so when the local aviation authority comes around I can play the clearance back to em.  Grin Grin

thats is odd Tongue

once i was landing at KFLL, i was cleared as first to land and behind me there was a huge MD-80.

what happened is the the damned airliner cut in front of my slow two-prop airplane and went over my head just when i was flaring to touchdown Shocked

just as that enormous monster roared above me, the tower delivered that bitter message of GO AROUND Tongue

it was the second time they made me go around for that landing (the fist time it was a 737 that cut ahead of me), so i got pissed and landed the plane instead Grin Grin Grin

since i was flying a small bird i was able to put it to a stop within the space between me and the Md-80 ahead 8)

they instantly warned me YOU ARE NOT CLEARED TO LAND, CLEAR THE RUNWAY!
and so i did, i cleared the runway but i did NOT let them make me go around again Wink

Roll Eyesi'm not sure this story helps you with your problem but its funny anyway

I think ATC likes to plays games when the coffee machine is broke... They tend to get a little jittery and really don't know what the hell they are doing without the coffee!

I think that's the problem. The comparative speeds of different airplanes. I couldn't see the Learjet because it was a night landing but he could have been almost on top of me. Apparently FS2002 doesn't respect us little guys. I've been almost run down by some big jets too.

Now I know why M$ didn't put guns or missles on planes in FS2002. I might be tempted to take out a tower or two.  All by accident of course, "whoops! there goes a Maveric. Just gotta do something about that twitch in my thumb".  Grin Grin

Last Night I was waiting to take off from Denver International. After waiting for several minutes, I got my clearence. I took a look to my left and saw someone ready to land on my runway 1.3 NM away. Why are they letting me go??!! I didn't want to wait any longer, so I gunned it and looked back as I was cruising down the runway. I finished my take off from the grass on the right,  while he, (or she) finished the landing on the runway.  Shocked  Luckly, it was a prop plane, a jet would have run me over. And how come he didn't get in trouble. They just told him to take the next taxiway?

Sometime when you are sitting at the end of the runway and you find yourself #20 for takeoff, just press the "R +" keys and speed up the time rate.  Your aircraft will still be effected by time as far as fuel consumption etc., but it will seem like you are not waiting as long.

I too have had that happen when your cleared to land, but not cleared to land.  However, this has not happened in a very long time....

Some times when im flying KMIA to KJFK and right after takeoff i apply the autopilot but the AP is like retarded or something cause it takes a long time for it to respond. So i set the altitude and let go of the joystock and the plane starts making a dive. ATC tels me to climb to FL250 but the plane keeps going down even with the autopilot on. eventually the AP makes the plane climb but not after losing several thousand precious feet. (BTW it takes too long to climb to altitude with AP..) But after that little AP incident ATC is tellin me climb to atltude and such. when the bird starts climbin slow i hear ATC tell me "Radar service terminated, IFR cancelled" Man i am mad when that happened...i curse the ATC until my throat gets sore.. Roll Eyes
On other occasions landing at Meigs and other airports i get clearence to land and as i touch the ground they tell me to clear out...I tell ya what who knows what the ATC are doing in that tower....... Wink

After numerous irritating experiences with ATC, such as those detailed here, I now routinely ignore and defy all ATC....I go where I want, when I want...I have no patience for the idiosyncrasies of ATC

ATC annoyed today.

60 miles from Luton, they started giving the descent commands for approach to runway 25. I followed the instructions, tuned into the ATIS, and they said runway 8. So I followed ATC down to runway 25, was told to fly left traffic runway 8, as expected. Told them I went missed, and they then gave me the vectors for runway 8. Mind you, by the time I was heading into runway 8, the wind had changed again, and they told me to fly left traffic runway 25, as was the original plan.....!

Two incredibly pointless go-arounds!

Got a bit fed up and didn't manage to land it on ANY runway...!

I found a way to loosen ATC up. I downloaded the Typhoon and whenever ATC gives me a hard time I jump in it and buzz the tower at 800+ kts. You want just a slight dive and pull out at about 45 degree angle to the tower for maximum effect of the shockwave.  Grin
