Can anyone help me?

I have just bought an ATI Radeon 9200 (128mb)graphics card, but it just doesn't want to work with flight sim (2003). Whenever I check the accelarated hardware checkbox, I get a message telling me that my PC won't support the graphics settings I have chosen and then switches to safe mode. In addition to this, with the graphics settings all the way down, it is not nearly as smooth as when I was using the onboard graphics on my Mainboard. The graphics card seems to work fine with any other game or application, just not with flight sim.

I would really appreciate some help with this...
Thanx

Neil,

There's a possibility that your system cannot accomodate a 128MB graphics card............

So I ask, what type of processor and how much RAM do you have?

Sounds to me like your motherboard is quite elderly (relatively speaking), and won't allow a graphics card.

try to deactivate the on-board graphics-chip by using the settings in the BIOS. then, reinstall Direct-X 9 and be sure that you use the newest drivers (Catalyst 3.2). if it doesn't work, inform me.

Just out of curiosity, how do you find out how high of a card your system will take.
I have a ECS K7S5A mainbord with a 4X AGP pipeline, a 950mhz Duron, and 512mb sdram.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. Wink&&The Rig: &&AMD Athlon XP2000+ Palomino, ECS K7S5A 3.1, 1GB PC2700 DDR, Geforce FX5200 128mb, SB Live Platinum, 16xDVD, 16x10x40x CDRW, 40/60gb 7200rpm HDD, 325w Power, Windows XP Home SP1, Directx 9.0c with 66.81 Beta gfx drivers
