I am planning a flight around the world, And I am drawing a blank. I have plenty of stops in the US but aside from Paris, Beijing, & Cairo, I have no other plans yet. What would some other good stops be for sightseeing around the world?

Thanks in advance, Rick   Smiley

Hi Rick,

Have a wander around the reports on my site - you might see something you like.

One place I always recommend these days is Nuuk in Greenland. Really spectacular scenery around there.

I agree this IS a great forum and here's my chance to say "THANKS' to all as well.

May I suggest you go out and get yourself a world map or atlas. Used in conjunction with the flight planner you'll be able to more easily structure your RTW itinerary.
Cheers

If you want a good online atlas of where to go...then check out this link http://www.sitesatlas.com/Atlas/worldatlas.htm

I am doing a RTW flight too and I keep this open running in back ground and it gives you great detail on where to go...

Have fun!  Grin

What aircraft are you planning to use?

From the number stops you mentioned, it looks like a small turboprop?? Is it ?

Definetly take a tour around the US Virgin Islands, or the Carribean in general. That's one of my favorite places. Jamaica, too.

I can only speak for myself, but I find it's a big help to use FS Navigator as a reference map, during the flight. For me, it's more of a convenience to be able to mouse over a particular navaid and see how far I am from it and at what heading. There's so much information right there that can be used in case you want to divert to take in a sight, or in case of trouble. But, I'll still create and load the IFR plan for the ATC service.

I've already started my flight and soon I'll be going up through alaska, and leaving the US. I'm using a beechcraft King air for my flight. It's the plane I got used to real quick. (I'm fairly new at this) I still can't land the lear jet yet. I've take some large aircraft out for a spin, but can't get them down at a good landing speed.  Roll Eyes

Hey! You've got a nice aircraft to do that trip.
I'd suggest you stick with that plane while you get used to takeoffs and landings and forget about the bigger stuff at the moment. Thats enough of a plane to get you round the world(done it myself in that)
Enjoy yourself!! Cheers Cheesy
