How my Lavi is coming along Grin
I put it in the Edited Screenshots forum because the background is real and I've made some small touches so it will look a bit more real from the model in gMax, because until now it doesn't have all the (really) small details (such as the canopy, which is for now not transparent)
Take a look!! what do you think? oh man I love this bird! I think I should put it as my signature Cheesy I will name it "You will see! I shall return from the darkness!"

Thanks guys Wink
And Alonik, if you have any exclusive material on him please send me if you can Smiley
It's just I don't have any good picture that covers all of him, only few parts such as part of the fuselage, tail, engine and intake, but ofcourse no wings.......
I'm still having some problems working in gMax (with these X, Y, Z arrows again) but as soon it will be solved I shall return working on him Cheesy
Thanks again Smiley

well, my English is fine, but when speaking to fellow Israelis, sometimes I just can't find the words, other times it's their vocabulary that's causing the problem. I've read enough posts in French on these forums to last me a lifetime, and no one's said anything about that, same thing with german. The fact of the matter is, this is an international forum, and although English is the international language, some people find it hard to express themselves in anything other than their mother tongue. When I talk to the other Israelis on the forum about a recent trip to the IAF museum (or 'wildlife sanctuary (sp?) as they like to call themselves) I think most of you wouldn't mind skipping to the next post, regardless of the language I wrote it in.

IAFpilot

p.s Erez, you can always take the bus to Hatzerim, I know I did on my last trip, and I came all the way from Haifa (now do any of you strictly-English speakers really care? Tongue)

well it would be nice to offer some other language forums - but we'd also have to insert arabic symbols, - russian, chinese, japanesssss ......

No - it ain't going to happen ...  Grin

This is an english language forum & though sometimes people speak to each other in spanish, french ....  israeli - you are limiting your response considerably.

If you just wish to chat personally - then the PM is the way to go - not the main forums  Wink

thanks

Nice looking work erez Smiley

looks fantastic, I suggest that to complete the whole "I don't depend on anyone other than myself" concept, (which is why the Lavi was designed in the first place),you should put derby's and python-4's on the wings, and not AIM-9's or sparrows Roll Eyes

Yeah, true, but just because we had our own advanced fighter doesn't mean that we wouldn't buy any more weapons from the US if it was produced Roll Eyes
Beside, he was funded by the US too and I understand and respect that Smiley

well, that is true, but why buy AIM-9's when you can buy python-4's from the same company? (yes, lockheed martin produces the python 4, despite its Israeli origin)

besides, the python 4 is to date the best short-range/ dogfighting missile in the world (it didn't keep locking on the sun like some other missiles out there *cough* sidewinder *cough*)

well, the python 5 looks exactly like the python 4, it's the systems it comprises that are different, and that's all we know at the moment.

Actually, the Lavi's prototypes flew only with Phyton-3s.
The B-2 prototype in the IAF museum has blue Phyton-3s on his wingtips.

well, obviously it flew with the most advanced AA missile available, but just like the F-16, it would have been equipped with Python-4's and Derby's

things have changed when the people you're dealing with are international.. As a youngster it might have been rude.. but you were probably brought up in a very closed community with little contact with different culture where there's a single language and most people are monolingual...

i was brought up in an international background.. it's not rude at all for us, i have friends that speak many different languages... On thing i do find rude are monolinguals that are criticizing bilinguals/multilinguals...

deal with it.. the world has changed..
If you were bilingual you might understand us better (i am trilingual)... please don't criticize people for the language they speak.. it is very rude...

a B-2 in the IAF...lol
we can't afford to buy new trainers...let alone a 2 billion dollar nuclear bomber...hehehe

anyway, Erez, can't wait for further developement shots *hint hint*

and about the language Issue, now that it's (unfortunately) been brought back, I feel I have to put an end to it once and for all.
as you can see, I don't have any English problems, and I agree that this shouldn't be a multi-langual forum. after surfing around the other forums here, and having to skip entire pages written in German or French, I understand your frustration, and will stick to English from now on.

IAFpilot...I mean....USAFpilot (hehehe)
