Aces High by Iron Maiden! All about Spitfires:

" Bandits at eight o'clock move in behind us.
Ten ME 109's out of the sun.
Ascending and turning our Spitfires to face them.
Heading straight for them, I press down on my gun..."

Glad to see somebody remembers that one Hawker!!! The lines you wrote were on the tip of my tounge!! I did not want to post those becuase I could not remember it!!  Great metal band, kind of went down hill after that album! Sad

Dave

Does "Fling High Again" by Ozzy Osbourne count?  LOL

One of my favourite  Iron Maiden tracks Grin You are right though, they did go down hill after Power Slave.
And sticking with the aviation realted topic, Iron Maiden also did "Flight of Iccarus."

Gentlemen! The Beatles.

Back in the USSR:

Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC
Didn't get to bed last night
On the way the paper bag was on my knee
Man, I had a dreadful flight.

(The song begins with the sound of an Airliner landing)

Also a song which goes something like:

Boeing, Boeing 707,
Going, Going skywardly, heavenly.

Don't know the artist but I presume the name to be "Boeing 707"  Grin

Oh yes, and who could forget the ever popular(??)

Up, Up and away
In my beautiful, my beautiful, balloon.

Balloons count too, don't they?
(There's an interesting project for a keen FS builder, a balloon - Of course you would have to set the weather on "windy",...............lol Grin

it may be cheeezy or i might be old but i like rob zombe to Tchaikovsky

but like this one alot

John Denver - The Eagle And The Hawk
just 2min long but

I am the eagle I live in high country
And rock cathedrals that reach to the sky
I am the hawk and theirs blood on my feathers
But time is still turning they soon will be dry
And all those who see me and all who believe in me
Shier in the freedom I feel when I fly
Come dance with the west wind
And touch on the mouton top
Sail over the canyons and up to the stars
And reach for the heavens
And hope for the future
And all that we can be
And not what we are

i think it covers a lot of moods and like to cfs 2 to it lol gets me in a flying killing mood and thinking of the American way of life

I just found this one by Elvis. Was in the Movie "Men In Black"

Promised Land

I left my home in Norfolk Virginia,
California on my mind.
Straddled that Greyhound, rode him past Raleigh,
On across Caroline.

Stopped in Charlotte and bypassed Rock Hill,
And we never was a minute late.
We was ninety miles out of Atlanta by sundown,
Rollin' 'cross the Georgia state.

We had motor trouble it turned into a struggle,
Half way 'cross Alabam,
And that 'hound broke down and left us all stranded
In downtown Birmingham.

Straight off, I bought me a through train ticket,
Ridin’ cross Mississippi clean
And I was on that midnight flyer out of Birmingham
Smoking into New Orleans.

Somebody help me get out of Louisiana
Just help me get to Houston town.
There’s people there who care a little 'bout me
And they won't let the poor boy down.

Sure as you're born, they bought me a silk suit,
Put luggage in my hands,
And I woke up high over Albuquerque
On a jet to the promised land.

Workin' on a T-bone steak a la carte
Flying over to the Golden State;
The pilot told me in thirteen minutes
We'd be headin' in the terminal gate.

Swing low sweet chariot, come down easy
Taxi to the terminal zone;
Cut your engines, cool your wings,
And let me make it to the telephone.

Los Angeles give me Norfolk Virginia,
Tidewater four ten O nine
Tell the folks back home this is the promised land callin'
And the poor boy's on the line.

Flying North by Thomas Dolby.
He was popular in the mid 80's and wrote mostly science and mechanical themed songs. I believe his song "She Blinded Me With Science" was the first video MTV ever played.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.
