about the NAV hold... if you NAV/GPS switch it set to GPS and the ap and NAV hold are on, your aircraft will follow the green line on your GPS (the route you have programmed).

if the switch is set to NAV and you have insert a VOR frequency in your NAV radios, your ap will guide you to that specific VOR.

if you want more info, scroll back in this forum and you'll find tons of threads about VOR and ILS navigation and stuff like that.

As a pretty new FS2002 user - which sounds like what you are - I have found the forums here great in learning how to use FS2002 the tips here are fantastic and I found my Simming a lot more enjoyable using the knowledge shared here.
That said - Look for the one that reads "Procedure for Localizer" - Even I got it right for the first time just last Tuesday night ! I used the default lear jet - It was really cool -  Good Luck !!

Pilots land airplanes. Airplanes do what pilots tell them to do, unless, of course, the airplane is out of fuel. Then the airplane takes over.  Why have a flight simulator if you want it to do all of the work (fun)?

At Avsim there is a File called Autoland 2002 "autoland_2002.zip" by John Cillis (1426kb).  It requires FSUIPC 2.8 or higher.  It also has a way to adjust for the flare after landing.  I have not used it so I don't know how good it is.  If anyone has used this maybe they could give us some feed back here as to what they thought about it.

You should also perfect your manual landing skills just in case something goes wrong  Embarrassed and you need to take over the controls. Start with the smaller props and work your way up to the Big Ones! Grin  Good luck.
