Here are two brilliant planes I came across during my recent monster download session in the US. Haven't heard much about either before (just me?) but I think they are great.

First the Turbo Commander

...

A great model by Milton Shupe, panel by Scott Thomas, textures by Andre Folkers. Came out in March. Comes with or without vc (with is ac520vc.zip, 16MB), full interior and opening main door.

Panel is classic period design and strictly for manual flying. If you like flying manually you'll love this one!

BTW - the light effects are great. As the strobes flash at night, they illuminate the cockpit.

Second is the Project Fokker Fokker 100/70 package. Here's the 100

...

Came out in December I think and already there are a few good repaints available. The basic package is 5MB, but panel (6MB) and sound (8MB) are extra.

Has opening main door and VC. I didn't much like the panel but it flies well and is a good little extra heavy to have.

I heard that Ken!!! I'll ask Wendy to confiscate your beer again Shocked
Actually I have to say Roger that the Commander is v.nice, I haven't even spotted that one.
I've had a go with the Fokker and its okay, but not quite silly enough in the stunt division for me....

Hi BMan - strange that. I usually always fly heavies but since I installed that little old Commander I've really enjoyed messing with it. It's a bit twitchy on my system (maybe it's my stick) and I've had a lot of fun already with weather and crosswinds.

The panel's pretty detailed and the instruments are a bit small though which is a pity as actually there is a prehistoric autopilot on it which I've not managed to fathom yet. Also the other radionavaids.

I got the Commander this weekend and love it although the V/C has less detail than I prefer. Is that skin a repaint because it didn't seem to come with my version?

The Fokker 100 and 70 are two of my favourite small comercial aircraft in my Hangar although no V/C as yet for either!! All the repaints for these aircraft are first class and the sounds ore just perfect.

I have made a couple of posts of the Fokker, you may be interested in my last from a few weeks back:

Hi jcool

Speaking as someone who many years ago was priviliged to restore a grounded Tripacer back to flying condition (see my website) unfortunately nowadays love alone ain't enough! You end up also needing money - and as it's a turbo twin, lots of it I'd say. I guess that's why it's been there for so long. Real pity though.

Here's my old Tripacer

Hiya Joker,

Yeah, that paint job came with the package - it's called the MobilOilPegasus. I got 5 textures, Mobil, factory blue and green, N2609 and Texas.

I agree about the VC but I don't use them much anyway. Maybe something to do with one of the team members being ill at the moment.

Wow - like your pics and sorry I missed em. What Stansted scenery are you using? I use John Young's FS2000 which I've done a new AFCAD file for to line up runways/taxiways and parking spots. It's great.

I only got 3 factory skins in my download from AVSIM, will have to check to see if I am talking about the same plane, lol  Roll Eyes

I never used to use the V/C untill I got "Active Camera" now I use it all the time, it is fun to see your head bobbing up and down in turbulance and leaning left or right depending on your turn!

As for the Stanstead Scenery, that was part of a payware package by aerosoft entitled "COMMUTER AIRLINES eurowings professional". It contains many beautiful aircraft with fully functioning instruments, overhead panel and FMC and 6 airports, one of which is Stanstead.

All the best.

GMax is like the default aircraft - you can see the landing lights from the cockpit and the gear (retractable) is visible if you use the plane as AI.

Neither applies for FSDS except BOTH apply for FSDS2 ie FSDS2 is a modelling system that is a development of the original FSDS and is an alternative to GMax.

FSDS stands for Flight Simulator Design Studio and FSDS2 is an upgrade to the original FSDS.

GMAX is a different form of aircraft design application.

Both FSDS2 and GMAX contain the ability to create animations such as opening doors, cargo hatches, etc.................

Many planes are now being upgraded (like the one above) to GMAX.

The commander was originally released as an FSDS2 a/c and has now been upgraded to GMAX.

OH and by the way Rollerball those are nice shots
