I have Airport & Scenery Designer, along with Scenery Apprentice by Abacus.
Does anyone know of any tutorials for these two programs? The documentation that comes with it (on disk) doesn't really explain squat!
I would like to design something
better
than Emma Field (by LAGO), but I can't even create a flippin' airport... I keep getting these dumb errors saying that it can't create the files for this reason or that.
HP Pavillion = p7-1233w
3.20GHz Processor
8GB of RAM (expandable to 32GB)
Radeon 7560D - 4059MB
1TB SATA Internal Hard Drive

Yeah, wouldn't we all!!
If you're a newbie to scenery design, BE, the place most of us have usually started is with the freebie design progs (FSSC and Airport for Windows)
Both come with tutorials which don't cover EVERYTHING but are enough to get you going and then with advice from forums like this in no time at all actually you're flying
Then once you've got a handle on the basic principles I would guess it's easy to migrate to progs like the Abacus ones although so far I've not found the need.

Unfortunately, being that I have already paid for the two from Abacus... I guess I better use them, Airport & Scenery Design is similar to FSSC.

If i used payware design programs, i would expect a certain amount of support from the developers. If i didn't get it, i would demand a refund and download some of the very fine freeware programs that are freely available and are supported by people in forums like this one.

Yeah, for anyone else thinking about starting scenery design reading this, I agree with TJ (who always gives good advice!
)
Best not to rush into buying payware progs until you've used and tried the freeware stuff and have an idea of its capabilities compared to what you want to do. There's no need to pay for your learning curve with excellent progs like FSSC, Airport, EOD and free painting progs like Pixia out there. Not to mention LMDraw, CoastlineMaker and other more technical software (all still free).
OK, when you have built up your expertise by all means invest in the payware - by then you'll know what you want to achieve and the software you need to do it.
By way of example, I'm still using EOD and FSSC for all my scenery work and have managed to create some pretty complex scenery and objects. OK, I do use CorelDraw and PaintShop Pro which are payware for texture creation but I guess I could be using Pixia which comes very highly recommended.
But don't forget all these progs including the payware design stuff need learning effort and time - there is no shortcut which people are always looking for on the design forums to getting started in scenery, panel or aircraft design.
