it'll be a sad day but one that was bound to happen eventually. its more so sad in a way because of my granddads involvment with the cockpit electrics and instruments design and fitting.

i've read that BA was thinking of retiring the Concorde but that they weren't sure about it yet. they started thinking about it due to their dozens of emergency landings they had to make and due to the low number of passengers the plane carried.

i don't know nothing about Air France, i think they just keep flying with it. but if it was on CNN... it's possible they already made a desicion. it's sad  Sad

Air France have wanted to retire their fleet for a few years and the paris disater was the perfect opertunity but BA wanted to keep them in service and the two airlines wanted to retire them at the same time. So yes October will be the las time concorde fly's. Richard branson of Virgin atlantic wanted to buy every concorde for the original price of just £1, but the aircrafts makers (now known as Airbus) said that only the two flag carriers would be able to fly her. There are a lot of museums bidding for concordes and the one everyone wants is the most famous concorde G-BOAC, the "flagship of flagships". Competition is between, RAF Cosford (where the BA museum is), The Smithsonian (where they have built a hanger just for a concorde) and BAe Filton's new museum (where G-BOAC was built)

Where do you think G-BOAC should go??

Check out www.concordesst.com for further news or for a last chance flight visit www.concorde.co.uk and book a flight for £1095. Ive booked mine for 6th may.
