Dear Hagar,I printed out your tute on instaling FS2k scenery in cfs2 and followed the guidelines as closely as possible as I am trying to use FS2K2 scenery. All the areas and airports show up properly on the list, but when I go to use one I get the dreaded "fail to initilize-corrupt file message, then crash to desktop. What might I be doing wrong.?Ive gone through the procedure several times now including two uninstall/re-installs with no results Im about to drop kick this computer into next week . HELP! Angry Angry Embarrassed Embarrassed

To bad I cant make a living out of this, but it would probably kill me.

Hi Phil. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding. My tute is named "Activating FS2000 default scenery in CFS2". Here's your original question which I checked very carefully before answering.

Is it possible to import the scenery from fs2k for use in cfs2?

I would not expect FS2002 default files to be compatible with CFS2.

I came to that conclusion the hard way.Im just trying to combine the best of both worlds, thats all. mabey Ill try to find a copy of FS2k (rather old now) just to get the scenery-unless you know of a global scenery/airport pack available online that will work? Thanks for your help,Hagar. Kiss Kiss

Hi Phil. I guess you learned the hard way. It might be possible to pick up FS2000 at a bargain price now. I think that might be your best option. There are updates covering various separate scenery areas like Steve McClelland's excellent CFSII Europe series. I don't know of a global scenery addon for CFS2, especially anything including the mainland US. You could try Stephen Rothlisberger's USA Terrain Mesh which was originally designed for FS2000 & should work in CFS2.

I suggest you try a small area first to confirm it. This is mesh only & will not include airports.
