glad you discovered SESM, indeed it's a challenge. don't forget to take a look at the canyon, who's just a few miles out of the SESM crater. it's a really nice canyon. i often land on the water there with my amphibian...

Looks like a great one for a STOL a/c ... let's presume the Lear was just sightseeing

I tried it last night....
...!
I picked the T-Bird Microlight for it's short-field take-off capability.
I ciricled round and round, gradually gaining height without loosing speed and finally made it over the top, bum tightly clenched, white knuckles gripping the 'stick, (including my weener), with the wheels brushing the grass....
....!
(Sharp intake of breath).....
...!
Woo-Hoo... 8)...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!
Cheers...
Paul.
(England).
P.S. ..that is a seriously big hole in the ground with an airfield right at the bottom of it....

i just gave it a try in a tornado and got out first try but on landing i seemed to hit an invisible part of the hill on the way down and the main gear was busted so i ended up landing onto the belly of the plane,
and i managed to get out of there on in a lear jet but i had to make a 90 degree turn though to have the extra space for altitude great little airport

You wouldn't be flying on easy settings would you? lol
I tried it in a Fleet Canuck 80, had to circle a few times but made it in the end, think I spotted the brown mark in the scenery left by Paul

Yes, the Lear was just for sightseeing. It makes for a fast flight out of SEAM enroute to SESM, a 30 mi trip.
I would love to see screenshots of a 747-400 departing SESM. Is it a straight climb out or must you circle. I cant see circling as you would run out of room wouldnt you? A 747 needs a long takeoff run and I'm not sure you would have the space to takeoff and then circle without hitting the wall at the end of the runway. I could be wrong, but would love to see it.
