Has anyone seen the film 'Turbulance'?? The woman is told what to press and manages to land the 747 on auto pilot!? Is this actually possible both in real life and on FS?

Cheers

And how do you actually do it?? Can it only be done in certain planes (e.g. 747-400).

Cheers

There isn't much to tute. You just plug in your ILS freq and heading then hit Approach Hold and (theoretically) the ac does the rest.  I hope it works better in real life cuz the sim slammed me into the ground a few times before I stopped using it.

It seems to work better on props than jets and at some airports better than others.  My advice - get lined up then turn off the AP.  Watch your speed and kill the engines as you pass the threshold (or just before depending on the ac and your cojones.)  Ignore the ILS indicators within about 1/2 mile - at that point you should be able to see whether you're low or high.
