They all said I was mad! Ha Ha Ha! Currently I am running two hard drives on my computer; a 120 Gib and a 60 Gb. When I set up my computer I set aside a 16 Gb partition on the 60 Gb drive. But recently when experimenting with a new partitioning program I accidently crashed the computer. When I finally got it back up, I found a catastrophe, Everything on my computer had been wiped except that 16 Gb partition for my flight sims! I may have lost a lot of info, and that hurts big time, but at least the hours of downloading planes, making flight plans, and installing scenery are safe!

In talking with people, partioning your hd is a great way to increase your performance. You will have all your Windows and other operating systems on one partion and this is usually the smallest part. Then the rest is devoted to games and anything else you can do. This way the HD works more efficiently, as far as I understand.

Why buy a cow when milk is so cheap ?

Why partition when HDD's are so cheap ?
You can always burn a copy of your aircraft, and gauge folders to CD (I do it regularly) ,, AND periodically burn copies of huge downloads too
