Simple question looking for a simple answer:

If I uninstall FS2002, will it delete all my addons, or will it skip over them and take out only what the discs put in?

You'll loose the lot Ender. Best to move aircraft, gauges, effects etc directories that you've added too to another folder temporarily and then copy them back after re-installing.

This looks like a good opportunity to advertise Total Uninstall (http://www.geocities.com/ggmartau/projects/projects.html )  Not really advertising - it's free and I certainly don't make any money from it.  TU will only delete folders/files created at installation but it won't help you now, after the fact.

I'd go with ozzy's advice.  Assume you're going to lose everything and back up everything possible first.

Tipster, you've been reinstalling for a week now.  I did a total uninstall of XP, reinstall of W98 and all my apps in a day or so.  What's the problem?

Pardon my ignorance, but what necessitates these uninstalls/reinstalls? Corrupt files, bad performance? I'm dreading the day I will get a new computer and have to transfer the whole shebang.

Tipster,

Hence my praise of TU.  There are also tons of registry cleaners (mostly free) available.

5 Gb of add ons?  I assume you have backed these up to cd.

I'm still looking for junk I can dump from my full install.  Right now I'm  under 2Gb. Still the most  costly prog on my HD.

I'm under 2Gb cuz I just did some major cleaning of a/c  I don't fly anymore.  Yep, it's coming up as 1.98 G.  And I could still lose some space if I could figure out where the lessons wav files are.

On the other hand I have 19G free on this partition so I'm not worried.

I have a planned HW upgrade about 1 yr from now(Current sys is 1Ghz AMD and totally functional for any business app I want to run but slow as hell for FS2K2)  I think by then I can get a 5Ghz for $500 US.
