I would love to see a P-39 modeled for CFS3.  I think the thrity-nine was a great fighter.  Some of the big bombers like the B-17, B-24, B-29, and the Lancaster would be cool. Hey, you know what else would be nice? A P-40!  I like that bird, but not as much as the like the thrity-nine.

If someone could write a patch that would allow fs2k2 aircraft in cfs3 that would be a bit useful.......

For Sock:

Hey Sock, I wanted to say that someone did make a P-40.  It is avaible at Sim-Outhouse.  I have downloaded it.  It is not bad.

For Smoke2much:

What you want would be impossible.  First of all, you would need the original .gamx file so you could change it into a .M3D format instead of a .MDL.  If you got the original file, you would need to make some changes.  You would also have to make .DDS files for the textures and write a .MOS file.  The program couldn't get the original file by itseft and I would like to see one that could make a .MOS file without user imput.  (Maybe in the year 2020 they will have something.)

I thought that it probably would be impossible but I know as much about programming as a hungover neanderthal goatherder does...

Thanks for the info anyway.

Would a repaint and a name change work good for your Australian Mustang?  You could probably do that yourself.  Someone might even be able to make one for you.  Ask around.   Smiley

Most definitely a Lanc.  The Hampden sounds good.  We need a lot more RAF aircraft for sure!  The idea of a dam busting mission is great!  Or night raids over Berlin.  The mind boggles.

I'm glad I have support for the Hampden. The fact is that if we can have Halifaxes, Stirlings, Lancasters, wellingtons and whitleys then we can have a bomber command campaign!!! Grin

I look forward to it...

Plus the Hampden can be a Torpedo bomber... Replace the B25!

How about a Dakota, then get those infantry models developed too that I've seen posted on various sites, then get an Airborne drop mission into the game. Maybe pre D-Day drops or Arnhem, then you could have a choice of bridges etc. You could escort the transports or fly one.

Whaddya reckon?

Sounds good and is possible if you don't expect the infantry to do that much.

I agree with Can_Sapper.  That is what I think I will work on in my spare time.  I like Nod's idea too.

The infantry don't need to do anything really other than jump out and float down.

I'll have to check out that P-40, thanks for the tip.  The 39 and P-40 got me thinking about the lend-lease act, and then basicly about Russian birds.  The Yak-9 would be a nice airplane to see for CFS3 or a MIG-1 or even a Polikarpov I-16.  Those things had a nice roll rate.  And since the game has early jets, like the P-80 and the Me-262, why not a MIG-15 or 17.  Hell, while I'm at it why not start the Korean War!  We could have F-84 Sabres tangle with MIG-15s!  While we are on the Korean War, why not model the airplane designed to tangle with MIGs, the F-104!  America's first Mach 2 fighter, the so-called missle with a man in it.  I think I may have gone a little over board with my ideas...      The b29 would also be nice, but if sum1 made the atomic bomb to go w/it, it would be much better. Grin

a P-40N warhawk, early war US colour scheme (1941)
which would have U.S. ARMY on the wing underside.

(before you say it, I am well aware that there are P-40's already, but the nose disappears when you zoom in on it.) so I'd thought a early war USAAC P-40N should be done, my personal favourite. Grin
