I'm a newbie to all of this and need easy to understand help.  When I download some planes like the Concorde the gauges are missing.  I had the right gauges for it, but couldn't understand how to install them.  Now I forgot where I got the gauges and I don't have them anymore.  Also, I downloaded the Lockheed C-141 B Starlifter which came with gauge, sound, and effects folders.  I tried following the installation instructions, but it didn't work.  I need simple, good advice on how to complete my planes.  Thanks.   Smiley

For the concorde you need to go back to the site you downloaded it from.  If it was SimV use the "search" option between sitemap and upload images.

You may have to bite the bullet and re-download the whole aircraft.

Once you have the aircraft find the guages that come with it and copy/paste them into your FS2k2 GAUGES folder.  I have this as a shortcut on my desktop.

As for the sounds you need to copy these into the Sounds folder in FS2k2.

I'm not sure about effects as I've never managed to get even the basic smoke to work on my system.

I hope this helps.  You have to be aware that as with all software the quality will vary from designer to designer and some may well be bugged and never "look" right.

I have downloaded some fantastic aircraft that feel "right" but are let down by the panel.

It may be worth reading the articles on the SimV help section.  If you can live with your concorde having a B747 panel this will tell you how to do it.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Thanks.  I downloaded the panel for the Concorde and still couldn't figure it out.  So I e-mailed the person who made the panel.  He hasen't e-mailed me back yet though.  As for the C141 Starlifter, I downloaded a panel for it and was able to install it somehow.  If you know of a page somewhere that can explain panel installations it could help.

Not even the default smoke for the Extra 300s?
