Yup I got the press release late last night & they are calling it 'FS2004 - A Century of Flight'

'FS2004' sound s better to me.....  'a Century of Flight' sounds a little like an add-on or an expansion pack for FS2002, IMHO.

Think Global. It's the world we live in.

It also clears up a lot of confusion. A lot of people think that FSCOF was FS2003, and MS was gonna release a FS2004 next year Roll Eyes

I'd buy it just for the moving map in the GPS.

If that sounds extreme, take a look at the prices here for a Garmin add-on that does it  now:

http://www.fsavionics.com/html/purchase.html

Whilst their add-on is far more sophisticated than I suspect the FS2004 version will be, for me, the main feature is the map. You can effectively halve the price of FS2004 as a consequence of getting it free.

My 2 cents:

1.  Exciting!  I'm upgrading.

2.  Sorry to see that the Mr. and Mrs. King are back.  Their goofy videos annoy me!  (okay, maybe I'm being too harsh)

3.  I agree:  they should drop the Century of Flight bit.

I feel much better now.

Does anyone know about compatability issues with FS2002 STD and PRO.  Will the aircraft and add ons intergrate into FS2004 or will they have to be loaded manually? Sad

WebbPA,

I'm hoping that that petrol can is either a refuel or fuel management button.  Have to wait and see I guess.

According to Microsoft, FS2004 is backwards compatible to FS2000 as long as the designers complied with the SDK conventions. You can expect this to be the case with 99% of add-ons so you should be ok.
