Can someone tell me what Bi-Linear Filtering,  Tri-Linear Filtering does,  and witch to use if any.  Thanks,  Dan  Roll Eyes

I always thought that my airplane conveyed a silent sermon. To the earthbound observer, its silhouette was the shape of the cross on which Jesus was crucified.&&

Bi linear filtering is something that eliminates blockiness when textured images get close to you in a 3-dimensional environment..

Got that from http://www.ohitech.com/computerguide/comp_car.asp#bilin.

Don't really know any more than that - and the fact that tri-linear cripples my frame rates but bi linear is ok.

Trilinear does exactly the same thing but in more detail than bilinear. That's why it has an impact on your fps.

Obviously, it's supposed to improve the image quality but try switching between the two. If you can spot the difference, you've better eyesight than I have. Smiley

Thanks, I will check out that site.  Also anyway to make the default size of the radio stack and GPS larger when opening?  I know that you can resize once open but I have mine open in a second computer automaticaly and would like to open larger.
Thanks ,  Dan

You would need to manually edit Panel.cfg of the panels you use. Here's a modified radio stack entry for the FS2002 default B737_400.

[Window01]
size_mm=127,345
windowsize_ratio=1.0

position=8
visible=0
BACKGROUND_COLOR=16,16,16
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL

My favourite method is to add the line in red to the appropriate pop-up window. 1.0 is the default size. To increase it try changing it to 1.5 or 2.0 or whatever ratio you wish. This will vary depending on the size of the main panel BMP.
Make sure to use the correct entry as in my example. The usual window_size_ratio= line is a corrupt command & has no effect.
